Mercedes has addressed the problems that robbed Hamilton of a win in Australia and look for him to rebound this week in Bahrain. AS usual, this should be another good F-1 race.

Vettel and Raikkonen turn the tables on Bottas and Hamilton as FP2 concludes. The Ferrari's look super fast as Hamilton maybe sandbagging or may have a legitimate problem that has not been solved from two weeks hence.

Hamilton has a 5 spot grid penalty which will loom large tomorrow

Practice times favor Ferrari but its tough to get a read on those

should be fun, one hour until qualifying

Big stories out of Quali:

Verstappen chunks it in Q1 and will start 15th.
McLaren misses Q3 with both cars and Gasley in the STR Honda makes it. If not for a mistake by Hartley, both Hondas would've made Q3. Hartley missed by .009.
Ferrari pulls down top two spots and with Penalty Hammy starts 9th, but he is starting on the soft tires. His Q2 pace on the softs was almost equal to the Ferarri on the Supers...

My Picks
VET
RIC
RAI
HAM

Kimi's job will be to hold Hamilton up.

Fun race today, definitely a lot of drama as Vettel barely hung on for the win

Good showing for Haas with Magnussen in 5th!

Gasley in the Toro Rosso was a huge surprise...don't look now but Alonso is 4th in the points!

Had Ferrari not picked that moment to pit Kimi, I would have had 3 of 4. Hope that mechanic is okay.

Strange, Haas have two gun failures and ruins their race in Australia. Then Ferrari has two gun failures this weekend, killing a practice session, and then ruining a race and a mechanic's leg. Both teams released the car in an unsafe manner because the system said go. Plus, the Haas and the Ferrari both have the exact same oil plume out the back and each team had a bargeboard come loose from the floor this weekend as well.

But Haas isn't just using all of Ferrari's leftover parts. Noooooo.

Max Verstappen has a million dollar pair of hands and a ten cent fart for a brain. You can't win a race on lap 1, but you can lose it.

Hell of a run by Gasly, we'll just overlook the fact that two Red Bulls and a Ferrari failed to finish. Higher finish for the Honda engine than they got with McLaren in 3 years... :thumb:

Nice win by Vettel to turn-up the heat on Hamilton and everyone else. Bottas finished second, Hamilton came all the way back to third to get a podium finish, and the newcomer Gasly finishes fourth.

As mentioned earlier. Nice showing by Haas to get a points-paying position fifth.

So did I Hank. He almost pulled it off. If he had three more laps he would have passed Vettel and we all would have been skunked.

I think after he was warned about over using his mediums early he backed off too much and didn't pressure Vettel at all. Allowing Vettel to baby his softs.

And I'm not sure why Lewis was so fast right at the end but previously it seemed he'd lost whatever pace he was supposed to have.

I'm not sure if it was the radio issues or what that affected Hamilton

His pace was so inconsistent all day, at the start of the race he was actually falling back, suddenly he went surging through the field after the VSC

I think he spent too much time trying to understand his pit radio and not enough time racing....
