great move. money is worthless to the phils in the immediate future. he is a solid piece to the pen and a trade chip again if/when they suck. and this time they can eat money while trading him for a better return with the extra year.

Yeah especially since they just traded him for 3 minor leaguers a couple months ago.

I do not expect him to pitch as well as last season. But he should help out of the pen. He is 37 years old
but I don't think that will a negative. Good move in my opinion.

Seems like a solid move; he had a 1.59 ERA for Phils and COL.

It appears that the Phils are extremely confident in their player inventory, future trade achievements, and chances of advancing to the playoffs in the next year or two.

It appears that Klentak looked at those 37 one-run losses this season and decided to take firm action. We should be able to turn more than half of those around. Whoopie!

Also heard that Klentak wants to go with 8 relievers so no body is overworked. I like it!
