Eflin against Wheeler. There should be scoring from both sides. Wheeler is average at best and Eflin allows homeruns at an alarming rate. Would like to see some Homers from the Philies today!
Wheeler's got a higher career BB/9 than Vinny V.Yep. Zack Wheeler, the guy who's pitched 295 innings with a 3.63/3.75/3.72 ERA/FIP/xFIP who averages 95 MPH on his fastball is "average at best."
God damn nig/ga, do something else. Baseball isn't your thing
Your insults mean nothing. Wheelers stats for this year are sub-par.Yep. Zack Wheeler, the guy who's pitched 295 innings with a 3.63/3.75/3.72 ERA/FIP/xFIP who averages 95 MPH on his fastball is "average at best."

His FIP- last year was 96. In 100 IP in 2013, he had a 3.42 ERA. In 185.1 IP in 2014, he had a 3.54 ERA. He may walk a lot, but he also gets a lot of strikeouts, and pitches in a pitcher-friendly ballpark which helps him not give up as many home runs.Wheeler's got a higher career BB/9 than Vinny V.
Average.
Are you fucking kidding me? Are you trying to piss me off? His stats from 9.2 goddamn innings means that he's sub-par?????Your insults mean nothing. Wheelers stats for this year are sub-par.
His ERA+ suggests otherwise. His FIP- last year was 96. In 100 IP in 2013, he had a 3.42 ERA. In 185.1 IP, he had a 3.54 ERA. He may walk a lot, but he also gets a lot of strikeouts, and pitches in a pitcher-friendly ballpark which helps him not give up as many home runs.
Anyone who is 26, throws in the mid-90's, and has had his first two "whole" seasons with an ERA under 3.54 is not average. You could say he's injury-riddled, sure, but not average.
His ERA+ takes into account his ballpark, which definitely hurts his stats. Still, one season being 4% better than league average, and one season being 3% worse does not make him average. He strikes guys out, doesn't give up a lot of home runs, and induces a lot of ground balls. His only vice is his walks. His ERA+ suggests otherwise.
Above average tools, average results.
He's exactly at average. Average results. His ERA+ takes into account his ballpark, which definitely hurts his stats. Still, one season being 4% better than league average, and one season being 3% worse does not make him average. He strikes guys out, doesn't give up a lot of home runs, and induces a lot of ground balls. His only vice is his walks.
Also important to note, the league-wide ERA in 2014, 3.74, was the lowest in baseball since 1989. Considering ERA+ is dependent on league-average ERA, that would fuck that stat up. His FIP- was still very good that year.
I agree. He is nothing special. He's exactly at average. Average results.
And the league having a low ERA doesn't "fuck up" Wheeler's results. If Wheeler was that much better than the rest of the league, it'd also reflect in his ERA. Either he's ridiculously unlucky or he puts too many guys on base.

65 pitches through 3 innings.Maybe Wheeler IS average
