Phil Steele's Top 40 countdown thread got lots of chatter and hostility, maybe this will get the same.

A couple things I see right off the bat that we can talk about are....McCarron or Murray on 2nd team?

Driskell on 4th team and no Mettenburger?

Robert Nkemdiche on 3rd team defense already?

I don't necessarily disagree with them all, but think they could be argued.

I'd honestly take AJ over Manziel. I think Manziel was 99% hype and his stats were the result of being left in games vs easy competition that any other QB would have been pulled out of.

His stats against quality opponents weren't anything to write home about. He had a good quarter against Alabama and the media wanted a freshman heisman to hype up for a story, so here we are.

I can see that, but he's the Heisman winner and a great duel-threat, and I don't feel like dealing with the backlash from saying that.

Manzeil will have a tougher time this year with his line not being as good. He had studs last year, he will be on the run alot this year and i think his attitude might be a bit different this year, bighead syndrome will get him. I think AJ brings the total package to the game, smarts, knowledge of the game, decision making ability, good arm, scramble ability is just enough and i think he is a team leader. I give AJ the edge based on experience and all of the above.

He's not a bad QB by any stretch.

But I find AJ's stats are pretty comparable without being bloated against bad teams.
