It is interesting to note the different approaches coaches have with rookies. I've got a feeling that we just might get to see a bit of Perine in the game tomorrow. I was reminded of that when another poster informed me that "elite" players get PT. While that is true, how much is strictly a coaches decision. Especially for rookies.

I am with you. I have never understood the hesitance of playing a rookie with more talent.

Maybe it's a trust issue, but the conundrum that something like that brings up is, while the more talented rookie brings more to the table, the experienced guy while more trusted brings less. Maybe it's me, but I've always had the mindset that the best players gives you a greater chance at success.

Sigh:scratch:: "I'm getting too old for this shit"___Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover).

Perine will be the bell cow next week hopefully. He has quicker feet in traffic than Kelly and I want to see what he does in the open field with a defender. As you saw yesterday, Kelly has zero shake!

Yeah I was wondering if he was watching the same game as us too. Maybe down the road that is correct but not yesterday. Perine did okay. For quite awhile he had a 2 yard per carry average though.

Not impatient at all, it was the 1st NFL game he played in. I think he will do well as he learns.

He should do fine. Once he settled in yesterday and gave his line a chance to set the blocks, he started to hit the holes. His first 6-8 carries, he was to eager and hitting the line before the holes were there. I bet he is the #1 back before too long. Kelly is a great guy and a great story, but he is just a so so RB. He ain't gonna break off many big ones. Although he played well yesterday.

If Kelly is healthy the coaches will give him the nod. But if Rob isn't healthy I would feel confident with Perine starting.

Amazing how that works isn't it dad?

Blocking in football, what a novel concept.

He still wasn't really playing that well. We ran the ball well but he was leaving a lot of yards on the field.

Please. He is a mid round rookie RB & it will take him time to develop. He was much better as the game progressed. You appear to be very hard to please. Patience - this is a young team at many positions. I hope for good things from these areas but realize that things won't always go well (even though I will get mad during the game).

Wow - this is gonna make it tough for you to watch the Redskins game. On one hand you will be cheering hard for the Redskins to get blown out & yet you will be hoping for a good day for one of their players - might be tough.

Wasn't talking about Perine was talking about kelley.

That said, Perine was bad yesterday. Whether he was a rookie you want to give time to develop or not he didn't play well. You're right that it's way too early to judge him, but you seem to want me to lie about his performance just to make us all feel better? F that.

When people play poorly say it. When they play well say it. There's no need to lie to prove a point or make us all feel better about the team. I think we all know 1 game doesn't make the dudes career.
