My guess is that 21 days from now the Mariners will be far enough behind in wild card race that it will be pointless to bring him back and he will be scrapped for the season for 'precautionary reasons'.

Zona is right. Time to let Paxton go. He's always going to have 'great potential' but he also needs to have an equal dose of 'availability'. He kinda reminds me of Clay Buchholtz. He is either pitching like shit but staying healthy, or, pitching great but on the verge of breaking down.
