Apparently, the league is taking away the 4th round pick they are gettign from the saints because it's higher than the original when they are getting back. This give the saints time to trade down and then give the pats that pick which will then be forfeited

You have it wrong. The patriots need the 4th round pick (to lose to Goodellgate) They are giving a 3rd because with no 4th, Goodell would take a 3rd.

Essentially, Bill gave Payton the pick instead of giving it to Goodell. Done Deal.....
