Rumor circulating around the Boston area is that the Patriots may be bringing in Colin Kaepernick as the back up to Tom Brady. NESN is reporting the rumor.

LMAO! That would be hilarious. Apologies to all the people who got offended by the whole knee thing but I'm really sick of it and who better to sign the dude than a team with a bunch of ties to the military?

That said, I'm not sure I believe it nor do I believe he has what it takes to be the QB in NE. Still, the Pats gave Tebow a shot so anything is possible.

Kaepernick is definitely a more talented QB than Hoyer but he comes complete with a whole truckload of baggage. I don't think BB wants to deal with it. Just thinking, if BB traded JAG because he couldn't reach agreement on a long term deal, will he do likewise with Malcolm Butler, especially if prognosis for Gilmore and Rowe to be ready after the bye is good? Sounds like Trader Bill might be ready to roll the dice.

No reason for the Dark Lord to bring Krappy in. He doesn't need a media distraction like he did when he brought Tebow on board to take attention away from Hernandez.

Hoyer was supposed to part of the trade, but they decided against it for the comp picks (not sure how it broke down). He is a FA and will be in NE. He knows they system and was pretty decent here. No Kaep in NE...no fucking way. You'll see Tebow before that pig....

Makes no sense for the Patriots. A team with a lot of focus and a Super bowl run and to bring in a media distraction like that?

I don't believe it.

Please no.

If it came down to Hoyer or him I'd pick Hoyer every time

If you're gonna bring in Hoyer, then why not put him in the trade? Might have been able to bundle Hoyer with a 3rd and not a 2nd.

I would have ZERO Issues with this signing, none. And it would say a lot about Kraft and this organization. Hats off if this happens.

I think signing Kap would be good for Pats PR as well as good for the NFL as a whole. If there is anywhere he could sign and not have it create a media circus it is NE.

As long as he is told "Stand, put your hand over your heart and smile at old glory".

And if he were to do that he would be wrong for that.

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard - even on SportsHoopla.

We got Hoyer for free.
Most are thnking we should have gotten more for Garappolo.....
Maybe we could have gotten a 4th string guy on IR, we could have bundled them all for a 6th?????
