Patriots FB James Develin to IR; opportunity knocks for Jakob Johnson

The Patriots are going to be without a major piece of their running game for at least a couple of months. The team announced Monday that they have placed fullback James Develin on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least eight weeks.

Duh!? The whole reason Brady and the Pats were able to go on their second Super Bowl run after the humiliating defeat to the Giants! Develin is the entire reason that Brady got the extra 3 rings and dominated Seattle in the Super Bowl! Anointed I like you, but I'm starting to question your mental fortitude.

This is a major blow to the Patriots and clearly they are going to derail at this point. I wonder who will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl now? Baltimore/KC/Houston/BUFFALO? New England is clearly out of the running and their run is over. Buffalo takes the division in a landslide. Tom will finally be exposed.

This sucks especially going into Buffalo where the run D is their weakness. A beat up O line and Sony still struggling I'd been a lot happier if Dev was available.

Just today I was reading at WEEI how they have some 250 lber who out of nowhere made the team as fullback. From Germany?

Maybe it's his time to step up? Or more Bolden?

this is why michel aint runnin. with develin out there, even with them stackign the box, develin is that good that he can clear a lane for michel. no develin, michel looks almost useless. at least whgen burkhead etc are out there you have to be honest due to pass catching. michel needs to hit the jugs machine.
