Praying for her family and friends. My oldest daughter got to meet her in North Little Rock at the SEC Women's Tournament. At the time my daughter was playing 8th grade basketball and I was very impressed with Coach Summitt. She autographed her T-Shirt then called the Tennessee team over to autograph her shirt. What a class act, not to mention an excellent coach!

Being from the state of TN...I was really sadden to hear this news.

Coach Summit took a womens basketball program that barely register as an organized sport to national status selling out the arena every game, and clearly overshadowing all sports not named football in Knoxville...She created the blueprint for UCONN, she put womens basketball on the map.

I think I heard Summit speak on this letter, and she said she was offered $250 per mo...not per week, per mo.

That's from whence she came to build that program.
