Parise Wants to Start Contract Talks

The Devils should get to work on this immediately. It's too risky that he might be put off by this. If the Devils have focused so much attention on Kovy that it's disgusting to ignore Parise.

10 years/75 mil. That puts him almost 1 mil more than Ilya.


It also says that White is available for trade, or so some article says. I haven't seen any info from any Devils websites on him.

The Devils should take advantage of the pseudo loophole the PA managed to keep open regarding these long term deals. The restrictions will be far greater after the next CBA so they should lock the players up now.

well the loophole is no where near as big now and say we give him a 7 year deal. that'll put zach at 33 (it won't start til next year)

i have a hard time seeing zach wanting less money in his early thirties, he's at an age where he'll probably get a similair amount across the board. i'm betting on a 7 mil cap hit

I think he will get signed... and I agree that it will be somewhere in the 7 year range

your right the sooner we get this done the better it is for everyone involved...hopefully its not a 3 or 4 year deal...i think if beek wasnt around it would be. so i'm hoping he gets a 10 year deal

I think the fact he's come out and said he wants to get something done is an excellent sign! I know there are other issues to be fixed and maybe they cant do it right now but i hope there's talks between him & the devils.

Cup, I disagree, I think that Lou has said at every turn that he absolutely wants to get Parise locked in for a long time. Even if it was a 3 year deal, there's a TON of salary coming off the books in those years anyway.
