State your case. Klay is also under contract for 2 more years, PG just one.
They are both good players but Thompson plays on an all-star team. Put George on that team and he'd be just as good and probably even better.

Nonsense.

First of all, you can't get much better than the '17 Warriors. 2nd, George needs the ball in his hands, Klay does most of his damage playing off the ball. 3rd, George is under contract for 1 year and the Dubs would have a much harder time resigning him long term than they would Klay who is under contract 2 years.

There is literally nothing about this deal that would make sense for the Warriors. They are not building a fantasy team here.

No because what Klay does is a perfect fit for this particular brand of basketball. He's a better shooter, better defender, and better off ball player. He's also a fan favorite, why would you mess up the chemistry? They won 2 titles in 3 years, almost 3 in a row. It would be lunacy to trade him for someone "just as good" for 1 year instead of 2.

You are way off on this. No shame in that, we can't get them all right.

And Kay is a better defensive player than PG.

That would have been a good trade.
For the Pacers yes , but not for the Warriors who still have two more years on Klay Thompson's contract and not only that - ESPN has George listed as a forward and Thompson as a guard - that would leave the Warriors short a really good guard and to many forwards that want the ball. With Durant as the forward - you need some role players.

I would build around Klay long before I would consider building around George. I'm not even thinking from a Warriors perspective either. I could be any team.

Well, Bob Myers ad just about every NBA analyst in the world agrees with mine. So there is that.
