If nothing else, with the sanctions gone and the Kiffin Sark shit show in the rear view mirror, Helton and Swan have stabilized the program to where it should be a coveted job again.

Agree. Combine the sanctions being over, the upgrades to the facilities and the Coliseum, the talent USC attracts and it should make for a much easier coaching search if it ends up that Helton is let go.

I know you're likely mostly kidding...but I'm not sure how I would feel about that.

On the one hand, he's arguably the 2nd best coach in the country after Saban and he is used to spotlight and pressure having coached at 2 big time programs.

But then there'd be that underlying "sleaze factor" that, real or imagined, would come along with hiring him.

I'd probably be glad if USC did get him (they won't even if they end up needing a coach), because I know he'd have us in the CFP hunt every year.

But I'd also be dreading that one day I'd turn on ESPN to see there's some kind of scandal going on involving him.

Oh lets face it, it's really USC's division to dominate with maybe an outside chance Chip does if USC can't take that next step. I was reaching a bit and I know it.
