Monday, November 14th (Bonus: ESPN 24-Hour marathon schedule)

This year, I'm putting the big games on Tuesday that are NOT in ESPN's marathon and putting them in another post (so that it isn't 8 pages long). Anyway, let's get to the games for today (All times are Eastern):

Monday:
Huge Game: Villanova @ Purdue (7:00)
(And it's only on the Big 10 Network?! Sneaky move there, fellas.)
UMass @ Ole Miss (7:00)
Northeastern @ UConn (7:00)
Albany @ Cincinnati (7:00)
Old Dominion @ Richmond (7:00)
UT-Arlington @ Minnesota (8:00)

Marathon Games on Monday:
Princeton @ BYU (10:00)
San Diego State @ Gonzaga (12:00 A.M)

Marathon Games on Tuesday:

Green Bay @ Pacific (2:00 A.M)
Florida Atlantic @ Hawaii (4:00 A.M)
Niagara @ Hartford (6:30 A.M)
Winthrop @ Manhattan (8:45 A.M)
Longwood @ Stephan F. Austin (11 A.M)
Dayton @ Alabama (1:15) (Wait... Didn't I see this game last year?)
Oregon @ Baylor (3:30)
And then, that tremendous Champions Classic. But there's more!

Tuesday, November 15th

Away from the crutches of ESPN and it's marathon, we have these exciting games on tap (All times are Eastern):

Monmouth @ South Carolina (6:30)
Maryland @ Georgetown (6:30)
(Was that struggle against American just "opening night jitters" for Maryland? We'll find out soon enough. By the way, I would actually like to see Mr. Trump in the Verizon Center for this game.)
Iona @ Florida State (7:00)
North Texas @ Texas Tech (7:30)
Wisconsin @ Creighton (8:30)
CSU-Bakersfield @ Arizona (10:00)

And also in the woman's game, UConn starts life without Brianna Stewart as they visit Florida State. Enjoy the madness, everyone!

11/14 and early 11/15 action recap

Currently, Dayton and Alabama are in the 2nd half as ESPN's marathon goes on. Before we get too deep into the Champions Classic, let's see what happened earlier:

Monday:
Villanova over Purdue 79-76
(A great way for Villanova to start their title defense. Too bad not many of us got to see it.)
Ole Miss over UMass 90-88
New Hampshire over Temple 57-52 (Whoopsie)
Northeastern over UConn 64-61 ( :noidea: Yeah, I don't know what's going on either.)
UNC-Wilmington over Eastern Kentucky 78-69 in OT
Old Dominion over Richmond 64-61
Furman over UAB 84-74 (Whoopsie)

ESPN Marathon Games:
Gonzaga over San Diego State 69-48
BYU over Princeton 82-73
Hawaii over Florida Atlantic 64-63
Pacific over Green Bay 76-58
Hartford over Niagara 82-78 in OT
Winthrop over Manhattan 94-81
Stephen F. Austin over Longwood 66-60

With that done, I now leave you to enjoy Dayton vs. Alabama... and all the good games after that.

Duke vs. Kansas - Game Summary - November 15, 2016 - ESPN

Man! ESPN continues to get lucky! Not only did they give us a great Veterans Classic, but now we have an all-timer where Kansas stuns Duke at MSG.
Oh, and Kentucky beat Michigan State on the undercard by 21 points or something.

11/15 recap

So what happened outside of Madison Square Garden? Well...

Baylor over Oregon 66-49 (NOT an upset; Oregon was without Dillon Brooks here)
Creighton over Wisconsin 79-67 (Khyri Thomas was the difference for the Bluejays as he led the run to put it away.)
Maryland over Georgetown 76-75
Dayton over Alabama 77-72
South Carolina over Monmouth 70-69 in OT (Monmouth almost did it to the big boys again!)
Toledo over Youngstown State 103-98 in OT
Louisiana College over McNeese State 85-75 (If this result doesn't look big to you, consider this: Louisiana College is a NAIA school.)

Yep, good game. I wish Duke would have won, but I believe Kansas is a Top 5 team regardless with their guard play. There were way too many whistles in this game for my liking. It just stifled the flow of the game.

Yeah, Michigan State is going to fall in the rankings unless they get some help down low. Miles Bridges is good, but he was a liability when he tries to do too much... had a ton of turnovers against UK. This is why I hate preseason and early season rankings. Who the hell knows until they take the court.

Yeah, I was excited to hear UK plays Kansas this year... but then I looked and they play in late Jan. How the hell did that happen in the middle of conference play? Strange schedule...

freedom of movement is kind of a joke this yr. defenders are in perfect position and the offensive player leans in on a drive. nearly a foul on the defender every time

Going to 4 quarters of 10 minutes is a must for next year. Women's CBB has already made the switch.
