That was our 30th tournament appearance and 5th final four. We didn't win the conf nor the conf tournament. One of the best in school history? Not really. Exceeded expectations for sure. Blown the hell out and set a record for embarrassment? Yup greatest in HISTORY.

For better or worse, I do think that way.

Winning the title would be nice and all, but getting to the Final 4 was the real goal.

Even tonight's game was just a cherry. If you're Duke or Kentucky or course, it's different.

I agree with the statements directly above. Great year for OU. One game doesn't erase everything up to today. And had they won, and then got completely blown out in the championship, then does that save the season? Or are they just as bad despite the fact they got so close to winning everything?

They didn't show up today. It happens. Take nothing away from a stellar season and 29 wins in a great conference. I understand that the tourney is supposed to culminate the season, but the fact that it's only one-game matchups means that if you don't show up for a game, you go home (and that doesn't represent the whole body of work). Had it been a loss last round, I still thought OU had a great showing this season as one of their best. Add a final four to that, and this is certainly one of the two best years since '88 for OU.

They're one of the four best teams in the country. I don't care who it is, that's a great year.
