They should stick Joe's sullied statue in Emmert's front yard and let him figure out what to do with it & then build a new one in State College.

After one modification, turn the middle fingers pointing up at Emmert

99% of the people out there have no idea what the significance of "coach" in those emails even means... For those people, it all but clears Joe from being involved in any coverup whatsoever.

Yeah, Joe was not referred to as coach, he was always referred to as Joe.

Because many are uniformed and don't want the facts. They wanted their sensationalistic pound of flesh and got it...facts be damned. Its a TMZ world now, nobody cares if they get it right as long as they create a buzz. He admits he's uniformed and has read neither report, yet the people who listen to the stooge and people of his ilk lap it up like he's an authority. Its a shame people are too lazy to actually check the facts out for themselves and form educated opinions. At the very least everyone should read the Clemente portion of the Paterno report. Could save this sort of things from happening to a child you may know.

Jesus could come down from heaven, say Joe was innocent and did all he was able to and people like Cowturd would still tell you it was not true.

And the media frenzy happened so quick during that period. Uncritical acceptance of Freeh. Hopefully, the combination of lawsuits and this media exposure will turn the tide, and force some concessions at least.

Its not about concessions, its about taking every one of those unjust sanctions off the table....all or nothing. Like Wick sollers said, it was a cram down and they threatened PSU to sign the consent or they would give us death penalty. It was signed under duress based on a report that was never reviewed and not backed by any facts. The Paterno report has an even clearer blueprint for Corbett to hammer them and if he can't get standing, Sollers will file on behalf of the lettermen, the Paternos, the alumni and the students in a BIG lawsuit that will also look for big damages from the NCAA as well as removal of sanctions. He gave the NCAA a not so subtle heads up of as much on OTL. He's no joke, Sollers is a very high powered guy with a ton of connections. Once those emails get wiped as something far different than the assumption Freeh jumped to, the NCAA has absolutely nothing.

There's a reason Emmert and Freeh want no part of debating this with Sollers or Jay, they have nothing to stand on, Sollers and Jay have blown the pillars of their argument out of water.

That sounds exciting..I really hope this works out..LBU, do you think there is any chance the NCAA would react to this and lessen the sanctions due to pressure, or will it take a drawn out lawsuit?

Their only shot is getting the case tossed ebfore discovery. Emmert and Ray want no part of being under oath and the NCAA could be risking its very existance if they go to trial and lose an Anti-trust lawsuit. They would also be going against an opponent with resources like they've never fought before in the Commonwealth of PA. They will also begin to get attacked on more fronts with more lawsuits as well whether PA gets standing or not. The have an easy out now, Freeh has been proven bullshit, they can say "PSU implimented all our suggestions so well and so fast, we are lessening the punishment" If the Curley and Shultz trials reveal what I satted above, which seems to be very likely as Sollers consulted with the Curley camp at some point, the NCAA gets more egg on its face. They base the cover up on emails that are about starting a football program at a branch campus. Leaving the sanctions in place and doing huge financial harm to the school and the surrounding area opens them up to even more lawsuits when its proven bullshit and they did not even conduct their own investigation before unleashing unprecedented sanctions. NCAA could get sued out of existence then. They are walking a fine line on the ledge and Sollers and co. would be happy to give them a little push right off. I think its over rather quickly if PA gets standing and the discovery phase is going to start and a lawsuit will not be long or drawn out. The district its filed in is known as the "rocket court" for its expedient handling of cases.

With all due respect, that's unrealistic. If this whole movement gains enough momentum, the most favorable scenario I see is some type of agreement that allows some face-saving for the NCAA, and a lessening of the sanctions.

If the Corbett case doesn't get tossed by this motion, it most certainly is a very real possibility. His case is based on antitrust and not fighting select sanctions. Either the NCAA is wrong or they are not, there is no middle ground if this goes to trial or if any of the other cases gain standing and reach discovery phase.

NCAA is literally putting their life as an organization on the line if they take this to trial if they can not get it tossed with their motion (which incidentally contained a big error by saying the BOT accepted and ratified the sanctions, NEVER happened.) If Sollers gets them in court, already knowing that the last thing they can possibly be clinging to from Freeh, the emails, are bullshit and related to something completely different, he will tear them a new asshole. I'm sure the Gov will be made aware of all this if his case is able to proceed.

NCAA has also never taken on an opponent like the Commonwealth. They can beat down individuals with limited resources or schools that can't stand up to them, but they are dealing with some powerful people with some powerful motives (political survival). We'll know soon enough. I think you'll see the NCAA scramble to settle if Corbett gains standing.

Keep us posted, LBU... I have a feeling this stuff won't make much news.
