Almost nobody has hit much on the riffs of the grunge era. I'd say the best of that era were...

-Nirvana - In Bloom
-STP - Plush
-Pearljam - Yellow Ledbetter
-Pearljam - Animal
-Alice in Chains - Man in the Box

Yes, it was an epic face melting evening.
Rock show + small venue = great view.

So I'm on you tube checking out video's from shows like the x-factor, the voice and such, just seeing what might be coming out in the future. On the side is a video that says "Young Pinay singer receives standing ovation from Simon" (the show is called Britons got talent) and I come across this young Filipina singer who is 11 years old and has lived in England since age 6. Now anytime you get a standing O from Simon you've done something so I check it out and I was blown away. I watched her other 2 video's then 2 more from 2014 when she's 12 on a talent show in Romania and I was left speechless which isn't an easy thing to do. She has a one in a generation voice and I'm certain she's going to make a big name in the world of music. I'll post all 5 videos and judge for yourself, but just watch the looks on the judges faces. Might not be your type of music but just enjoy this amazing young talent.

BTM, you may dig this. Al Di Meola is a guitar god. His latest album (back in Sept. of 2013) was covers of The Beatles. I've been listening to it a lot as I'm getting back into playing my acoustic(s) more.

Some nice eye candy on this one.

Nice. A bass player for the Brockton High jazz band back in the early 70's who my older sister knew played for Al way back when. Forget his name though.

Freddie Mercury would have been 68 today

The show must go on...

/Best rock group of the 70s? Eagles would also be in the mix.

We are talking Grunge and guitar riffs, and you mention no Soundgarden?

For shame

Allman Brothers, Aerosmith, Foreigner, Yes, Skynard, all were great in the 70's. Pretty tough to name 1 "best" of the 70's

Nice list Wayne and I almost included (and probably should have included) Aerosmith on my original post.

I never say this is the greatest band or that is. music is SUCH an individual taste. it hits you at the right time in your life. one person could LOVE queen one person could LOVE aerosmith and neither could claim one is better than the other.

its music, did I just smoke a fatty?

Those are some pretty good 70s bands, but nobody mentioned Zeppelin. They gotta be top 3 in the 70s.

Sorry 43 - I never liked Soundgarden. Cornell - amazing voice, but just didn't like the writing that much. I don't know, I could never get into them. I loved Nirvana - had a god damn shrine to Kurt in my college dorm room and blonde hair down to my chin.... ahhhh, hair. sigh)

God dammit Dash... Pink Floyd!

Also, Nirvana sucks ass. Alice In Chains and Soundgarden are my picks for the better of the Grunge era.
