UC picked 3rd in today's AAC meetings.

Laughable. They get no fucking respect. They return nearly 90% of scoring, rebounding, anything you can think of. They return 7 of the top 8 players from last year only losing Jermaine Sanders.

UConn, who has no one, a few recruits and a transfer who couldn't make it at Pitt are expected to compete ahead of UC with SMU for the title.

I can get SMU...they return their key players. Even despite having no post-season chances, they only lose brown for 9 games, and it's mostly cup-cake games anyway.

UC will win and win rather easily. I doubt they lose 5 games.

Outside of SMU, the rest of the league isn't very good this year. Houston will be better, but for the most part everyone else got worse. UConn will be better, but by default, I guess.

UC has a nice non-conference schedule this year, so a few losses outside the conference wouldn't surprise me, but this is a top 15 top 20 team for the duration of the year until otherwise proven. The fact that most media outlets are ignoring what they did last year without Mick and new players, and the fact that they return everyone and Mick returns as well...just astounding.

Granted just an exhibition, but a solid game. The freshman look pretty good, and didn't come out tentative at all. Evans is going to be a stud scoring the ball. JJ may end up being the best pure passing PG this team has ever had. Fast breaks with the ball in his hands is going to be very fun to watch.

Also, they are all noticeably much bigger than last season. Ellis put on 20lbs, and looks beastly. Going to be a fun year.

DeBerry lost 20-30 pounds of that baby fat.

Yeah, he's down to 260lbs. You will see him and Ellis get some playing time together this year, which can be a formidable low-post combo on defense. Especially if you decide to slide Clark down to the 3, just in case you needed some real defense/rebounding, but I doubt you see that much, if at all (clark at the 3).

This team has a lot more offensive potential than probably any team previous under Mick.

The shot clock being lowered is going to benefit UC more than any team I can think of. As nasty as that defense is, now teams are going to have 5 seconds less to score.

I really wish UC and Louisville would get a home and home series going. I know Louisville has to spend their time lining up pussy for their recruits, but it's disappointing that the two schools that have been together for decades aren't playing anymore.

I know they'll never do it, because they're pussies, but it'd be nice to get something together with OSU as well. But, as I stated before, that athletic department is the most spineless in the country. Won't play UC in hoops until UC has their worst team in 30 years, won't play ND in football, move a game with UC to Columbus after UC has one good season.

I'm looking forward to this season. Anything less than a Sweet 16 is a failure, and it's not inconceivable to think they could get to the Elite 8 if they get the right draw. Of course they'll get seeded lower than they deserve because of their shitty conference, so...

Also, is it too much to ask that "The Hoop" updates the UC logo that was changed 10 fucking years ago?

As soon as I receive your payment I'll get right on it. Any other demands?

Another exhibition win. Another 40 points off the bench by the subs, too. While just exhibition games, fair to say that scoring off the bench has improved this year. Evans is going to be a stud, and Kevin Johnson could easily be starting at the 2 spot.

Mariota looked pretty good today didn't he K-Man.

He certainly did.

But the cynic could point to the fact that Eli just put up 6 touchdowns against that terrible D one week ago..... Food for though.

Oh I'm not saying Mariota is a top 5 QB, but he he has completed 65% of his passes for 1610 yards, which is 268 a game for 13 TDs and 5 INTs. That is pretty good for a rookie.

CINCINNATI – Guard Jarron Cumberland has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Cincinnati and play basketball for the Bearcats beginning with the 2016-17 season, head coach Mick Cronin announced Wednesday.

Cumberland, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound guard from Wilmington, Ohio, averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists as a junior at Wilmington High School last season. He helped lead the Hurricane to a 24-2 record while earning First Team Associated Press Division I All-Ohio accolades a year ago.

Cumberland has been evaluated as a four-star prospect and ranks among the top 100 players in the nation according to Rivals, ESPN, Scout and 247 Sports. He averaged 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals during AAU action with King James (Ohio) this summer, later earning Third Team All-Peach Jam honors during Nike EYBL action.

“Jarron is a great young man from a wonderful family and is one of the best guards in the country,” Cronin said. “He has size and skill, but what I love most about him is his toughness. He is a real competitor. We are very excited to sign the best player in Ohio, in my opinion. Jarron already bleeds Red and Black and our fans will love him.”
