Big win for Genie over Sharapova. It'd be nice to see Genie start winning again because she looked like she was going to be the next big thing in tennis a few yrs. ago.

Too early to tell if Genie is back, but she followed up a win over Sharapova with a quality win over #2 seed Angelique Kerber today (6-3, 5-0) as Kerber retired late in the second set.

Fed is 36, got to wonder if retirement is on his mind. Guy is already among the top male tennis players ever.

Not a bad weekend for Canada on the tennis front:

Vasek Pospsil wins the Busan Challenger in South Korea
Peluso won an event in Herzliya. His 4th title in 6 weeks.

Congrats to Gaby!! She and her partner Rohan Bopanna of India won the mixed doubles title at the French Open earlier today.

Good on Raonic for doing that. Best wishes to both Raonic and Bouchard as we go towards Wimbledon.

I've always wondered what happens to the doubles trophy. Who gets to keep it? Do they have custody arrangements for it? Is a duplicate given?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think each player is given a smaller replica trophy and the main trophy stays at the tourney site (in this case, Roland Garros).

I googled Pierre Prichard, and found out he is the custodian of the French Open trophies.

Both players are allowed one month with the trophy, then it is returned to Roland Garros (as @dash suggested).

Remember the name Felix Auger-Aliassime - This 16 year old kid won the Lyon ATP Challenger event last weekend and he continues streaking up the ATP rankings.

Also, Denis Shapavolov won his opening round match against #47 ranked Kyle Edmund of GBR at the Queen's Club tourney in London.

Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, and Milos Raonic all lose their first round matches at the Queen's Club tourney in London (Wimbledon warm-up). Was is this, the WTA tour?

Between Felix, Denis and Milos the future is bright for men's tennis in this country. Great to see.

Vasek Pospisil is playing much better these days as well. I think if you want your son or daughter to become a fine tennis player in Canada, their first name must contain 5 letters (no more, no less).
