And they have an extra 4th to do it with.

That would also make sense if they ended up going, let's say, Reuben Foster at 14. It's not the biggest need so they would have incentive to move up into the early 2nd to land a top CB.

I like that plan for building the defense.

I have a feeling the Eagles will also consider LB/Edge Hasaan Reddick at 14 ... you can line that guy up anywhere and he will produce. Came in as a Cornerback, so you know he has experience in coverage. Was incredible at making plays behind the LOS ... and btw can rush the passer if you line him up on the Edge in pass rush situations. Immediate starter at OLB.

I'm mixed on Reddick. I love that he's local . . . and you have to love his work ethic and his overall talent . . . but does he have a true position in the NFL?

He would be the best SAM we've had since Carlos Emmons.

Don't you think 14 is a little high. We could fall back into the mid to late 20's and still grab him.

He might not make it to 14. Kiper had him going 11 to the Saints the other day.

No ... looks like the Saints like him at 11 and the Lions love him at 21. That seems to be his window.

Reddick is a 3-4 OLB, he would be wasted playing out scheme at SAM.

so close to WR Williams dropping to 14.... I would rather trade up to 10 if needed and grab Williams. Learning under Alshon and the replacement for Torry if he doesn't work out. I wonder if a swap of 1st and Jordan Matthews gets us 10? Id' say Agholor, but don't think they would go for that. And Alshon/Williams would be an incredible power WR set for Wentz for a very long time. With Torry thrown in for speed and field stretching, and agholor learning under these guys for the slot on occasion and depth. That's an incredible WR set. Then go CB in the 2nd, 3rd and RB in the 4th. Then in 2018, you hit defense harder and fill in the holes. THEN we could afford RB in the 1st possibly as well.

Doesn't have the length or the bulk to set the edge consistently in a 30 front. I think because of his ability to cover in space (started as a DB at Temple I think) he has natural instincts to play SAM and be effective. He's certainly athletic enough, he tested through the roof at the combine, and when he was asked to play standing up at the Senior Bowl, he owned the one-on-one sessions. The fact the he played DE in college gives him an extra dimension to rush the passer from that spot in certain situations.

If he were to play in a 3-4, he would be more effective as an ILB, where they could hide his lack of size and would be an effective blitzer up the middle.

I like Cooper Kupp a great deal as well. Not at 14 obviously, but I think if we had a scenario to grab him in the second, and trade Jordan Matthews for a 3rd, Kupp could step in and produce immediately from the slot (Kupp is a great route runner) the same way JMatt is now - plus I think he has better ability to win on the outside than Matthews displayed coming out of college. You almost "reset" that position without losing much in ability and gain an extra 3rd rounder in the process.

I just want Switzer in the 4th/5th round. A perfect slot receiver.
