Still opening weekend charlie, that's the good news.

Heels take the 2nd game with College of Charleston 12-3. Rubber match tomorrow with a freshman on the bump! Should be interesting. This is a rebuilding year for UNC, but CofC is a good squad and should make the tourney this year...again. A road series win would go along way toward building some confidence in this young Tar Heel squad.

Texas took the finale from Cal 5-0 and neither team committed any errors. Longhorn Zane Gurwitz hit a solo homer in the 5th.
Mark Payton finished the series going 9 for 17(.529), hitting for the series cycle(all 4 games) and had an unreal .882 slugging percentage.

Heels lose the series against CofC. Took us 27 games to collect 2 losses last year...now we sit at 1-2 after week one...lol.

CofC is a solid team, still hate to lose 2 of 3 to them, but they are no joke.

I'm a little disappointed that the Gamecocks only scored 41 runs in the series this week, but I have faith that we'll get it together before the conference schedule starts.
