Well, looking at the teams that fired and hired coaches this spring so far it was the Canucks, Kings, Stars and Vegas. That's 2 rebuilds, 1 expansion team and 1 team that realistically could contend next year. Say the Stars went immediately to Hitch (which it appears they did), why would you leave your cushy exec job in the Prem to essentially take the same job you were fired from via Skype just a few years ago?

And Scott Gomez, the former Devil and Ranger who retired prior to last season, is a candidate to join Weight’s staff as well, possibly to focus on the Isles’ inconsistent power play.
