Good win for my Senators last night. 6-4 over St.Louis, need wins like that if we want to make the playoffs.

Yeah, the Bruins are really coming apart at the seams right now. Got to wonder if Julien's seat is getting hot. If it is I like him to be head coach for Las Vegas.

you guys catch insider trading last night? talked about Vrbatas bonus structure making him kinda untradeable

250k bonus for each playoff round he advances

i saw people trying to wrap their heads around it ... why would the coyotes do this? any contender that would be sniffing around for him (probably not a even a handful of teams) would be hooped with the bonus carryforward thereby killing the vaule of anything they could get for him in a trade

as far as vrbata goes ... did he want these bonus clauses so he wouldnt get traded at the deadline? iirc He only gave the canucks 2 teams he would agree to a trade to last deadline and it was like a day before the deadline

Hope Clarke hangs em up. Sounds like his body's trying to tell him it's over.

He really wants to play, so he's probably devastated. I think this is the right call though; good to see that the doctors and the team are "saving the player from himself".

Who knows maybe he'll pass 20 tests between now and September and never look back. His long term future is the important thing at this point though.

It can't be an easy thing to accept for the guy but, like Chris Bosh, no team is going to risk further debilitating injury on their watch (and open themselves up to future legal proceedings).
