So far after the first full week of fall practice, the OL looks to be playing well. The backup center Ryan Norton saw a lot of time in the scrimmage Saturday and played well with Dalton Freeman being moved around (he played the majority of his snaps at RT, actually). With Timothy likely being out for several weeks with a knee injury, Norton will probably start at center and Freeman will move out to RT. The light seems to have come on for Shaq Anthony (although he is currently listed as Brandon Thompson's backup at LT) since last year, and Tyler Shatley is playing out of his mind since being moved to offensive guard from DT over the off season.
A lot of people are prognosticating that the '12 season looks eerily like the '08 one, but the mentality has changed significantly since then. Last year, we were down early in several games and bounced back to win during the 8 game streak but seems like the guys were worn down towards the end of the season and really struggled. With last years ups and downs under their belts and the addition of some very talented freshman on both sides of the lines, I think we're poised to win 9-10 games this year and really generate some buzz for the '13 season.
