Good for both sides.

And yeah, definitely good for both. Okafor just may bounce back with a change in scenery. Plus the Brooklyn fan base, all 17 of them, will be happy to have him.

Sorry but Okafor is a bust right now. 76ers win this trade.

Basically they gave up two former lottery picks for an expiring contract. Trevor Booker is one upcoming free agent I have my eyes on for the Pacers.

Bust is a strong word considering Philly held him hostage

I don't get the bust label either. He may not be a allstar player, but I think he can be a starting center in the NBA. He can get buckets. It's his rebounding and defense that need to be worked on which can be helped with the right dedication.

You think he finds his groove in Brooklyn? I don't, but then again I could be wrong. He's definitely got the potential. There's a reason he was #3.

For being a 3rd overall pick, he can't just be a normal starting center in the NBA.

I get it but if you expect all top 5/10 picks to become stars or superstars then that sucess rate is really bad as of recently.

I don't think anyone expected Okafor to be Demarcus Cousins or anything

Now if the Nets can fool the Wolves into trading them KAT, they'll have the top 3 picks from the 2015 draft.

Definitely not top 10 but if you're good enough to be a top 3 pick in the NBA draft, you should have the talent to become an all-star AT LEAST 2-3 years into your career.

Agree but that's rarely the case anymore

Essentially, we traded a 2nd round pick for a defensive PF on an expiring contract.
Good luck to Jah and Sauce.

2 all-stars from the top 10 of that draft.

I might be the only Sixers fan who likes Okafor
I think he can be a good productive player in this league
He got kind of a raw deal lately in Philly but I don't blame Philly that much - you have to go with what brings you wins and Okafor didn't fit into that

Good luck to Okafor and Stauskas

For being a 3rd overall pick, he can't just be a normal starting center in the NBA.

Where he was selected is not a fault of his. It's the fault of the scouting staff. Every year there are hits and misses in the NBA draft. Name and NBA draft where the top 3 players were the best in their class. You probably couldn't because drafts are complete crap shoots.

If he was evaluated correctly, he might be more inline in that draft class with a 5-7 pick. In that case he's valuable. Associating where you were selected with your potential output is not on the player.
