Listening to Cooter answering questions the other day, and reading between the lines, I don't think he thinks Dahl is the answer.
Other than losing Stafford himself (and still not having Suh), its the biggest loss we could have suffered.
Were fine if we are ok with missing the playoffs and putting Stafford's career at risk for 16 games.
Yep.Other than losing Stafford himself (and still not having Suh), its the biggest loss we could have suffered.
Not too many teams lose their starting LT and don't see a fall off. Especially wild card teams.
Taylor Decker - T - Lions
Lions coach Jim Caldwell doesn't expect LT Taylor Decker (shoulder) to miss the entire season.
Decker has a 4-6 month timetable from his surgery. He’s likely to be placed on reserve/PUP, making his earliest return sometime after Detroit’s Week 7 bye. The Lions signed veteran OT Tony Hills but plan to stay in-house to replace Decker. Joe Dahl has been getting Decker’s OTA reps.
Would be nice, but I'm not buying it.
Depends how bad it is. Some Labrum tears dont even require surgery. Others can take 9 months or more but that is usually in people over 40. I bet he is back around T-day.
He had surgery already. I tore mine in college. Granted, I had zero rehab (did it on my own) and it took a year to heal. Zero problems since tho, and that was about 20 years ago.
When you put it like that, another top 10 draft pick does sound OK.
Where can I buy this optimism? The days of the Lions picking in the top 16 are over. At least until we screw someone out of their 1st round pick with one of our young QBs.
