Colby and Derek wanted to be in it.

Good answer. But I swear I'd take Colby right now, but I'm honestly glad Dutch has gone.....And that's for both parties.

I have no idea of who's announcing our game this afternoon, but he doesn't seem to have any kind of handle on who's where, much less how to pronounce their name's.

Rua has been pronounce Rua-hhh, and now our CF doesn't even have a name, he's just "our Center fielder".

Haven't watched much but gallo's swing looks to be more controlled today than I've seen in the past. Hope it leads to better results.

They will delay it and put it off, which will likely just make it that much longer before he is able to pitch when he ultimately has the surgery eventually anyway.

He wont be a factor for the Rangers at the major league level again more than likely, Should have trade him when they could have gotten something for him. Hindsight says so anyway

SAN ANTONIO -- Right-hander A.J. Griffin was "easy to watch" on Friday night, Rangers bullpen coach Brad Holman said.

In five innings against a split-squad Cleveland lineup, Griffin worked at a snappy pace and commanded all of his pitches. He retired the final 12 batters faced and had a run of 15 consecutive strikes in that stretch.

Had Griffin been pitching in a legitimate park, he perhaps would have allowed one hit, a gap double by Abraham Almonte in the first inning. Instead, Griffin gave up three homers to the short right-field pitch in the jerry-rigged Alamodome.

The cheap homers did not take away from what was Griffin's second consecutive strong outing. Take away the homers, and Griffin would have nine scoreless innings with no walks and eight strikeouts in his last two appearances.

That's 100 pitches if Yu's pitching.
It is usually closer to 100 pitches for Griffin. At least last year it was. Griffin and Hamels were both worse than Yu in pitches per inning in 2016. Perez was slightly better than Yu last year.

Rotation:

Darvish - contract year, I expect domination
Hamels - probably will have a decent year but definitely not a "TORP" year
Perez - A few decent starts, but I project him to get knocked around a lot
Griffin - Lewis-esque. Will contribute quality starts but will occasionally get hammered
Hauthschild - innings eater at best.

Lineup:

Feast or famine, a lot like last year.

This looks like a .500 team to me and needs to many moves to become a real contender.

Ross and Cashner will be in rotation soon enough. Hauthschild is at best long man with an occasional start. Doubt we start season with 5 man rotation unless he can start again to do what he supposed to do- throw strikes. We may not even keep him. If Ross is back to form then we have an upper tier rotation.

Re lineup. He big question mark to me is Choo. But he is beginning to accept DH role which is good. Also wonder if Profar comes back red hot. I would not underestimate him. So on paper, I think we are still in the mix albeit maybe not a front runner depending on how pitching turns out SP that is as our lend looks pretty good although a LHRP has not emerged as a specialist. If we get that filled then Claudio takes the long man role and the rule 5 guy is gone.

So to me the lineup is pretty set minus LF with a potential platoon there. Bench spots are still open. Alberto is back to AAA. Drew R is your super utility guy. Prob DDJ makes 25 man. Not sure if that frees up Hoying but maybe if we don't get LHRP on 25 man. ...............Just opinions there
