There really are no words.....

Mets vs. Reds - Game Recap - May 8, 2018 - ESPN

UP NEXT:
Mets: Zack Wheeler (2-2) coming off one of his worst outings, will start in the rubber game on Wednesday. He tied his career high by allowing eight runs in six innings of an 8-7 loss to the Rockies last Friday.

Reds land Harvey, send Mesoraco, cash to Mets

CINCINNATI -- Matt Harvey is getting another chance, this time with a historically bad team in a city that will have far fewer late-night temptations than the Big Apple. The Mets are getting a catcher who can help at their most unsettled position.

The Reds acquired the former New York ace for catcher Devin Mesoraco on Tuesday, shortly before Cincinnati pulled away to a 7-2 victory over the Mets at Great American Ball Park.

The deal provided a fresh start for two former All-Stars whose careers have been sidetracked by injuries.

Mesoraco merely had to walk to the visiting clubhouse and was on the bench for the first pitch by Luis Castillo, which Mesoraco was originally supposed to catch. He was still wearing his Reds socks when he headed for the New York clubhouse, where attendants were sewing his name on the back of a Mets uniform.

"Just kind of surreal," Mesoraco said. "A whirlwind. A lot happened in 15 minutes."

He pinch hit in the ninth and took a called third strike as New York lost for the seventh time in eight games.

The Mets created a spot for him to play immediately when they put third baseman Todd Frazier on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
Harvey is in Los Angeles working out and will join the Reds for the start of a series there against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Well hopefully the new guy can bring something defensively.

Vargas needs a stint in the minors right? He's singlehandedly burning up our bullpen.

Final in 10 innings....Reds 2 -- Mets 1

Mets vs. Reds - Game Recap - May 9, 2018 - ESPN

WTF!!

This team apparently has more issues, that I don't even know where to begin.

How do you lose a series (nearly swept if not for a brief run output in game 1) to maybe the worst team in the NL and perhaps MLB, after being swept at home in b2b series??
There's simply no rhyme or reason as to why the entire roster is underperforming so frequently. Are they all drunk???

It's unacceptable...and it's in every aspect of the game.

Suckage gone awry...with no end in sight.

Appalling and embarrassing is putting it lightly.

Well, I kept waiting for the Market Correction after that hot April, looks like it's fully here.

Only question now is: How low can we go? 4th place, or maybe Miami gets on a roll and we wind up last?

Nothing like having a June swoon a month early, eh??

I still think they'll recover and be okay for the long haul.
3 games back in early May is nothing....but they're gonna have their hands full in Philly this weekend. Maybe they'll finally snap out of their funk and surprise us.
