What is the difference in playing in late October/early November? May be a non issue anyway as it's not always that cold out east in early November

That certainly would appear to be the only way for the Braves and Brewers to make it into the Post Season

Strangely this does not affect the Mets or their fans in any way.

They can have the warmer climates (or domed teams) have more home games the first week (or two) of the season, or, at the very least, for any series that is hosted in the first 2-3 weeks of the season, have the second series in the middle of summer so it is easy to makeup if needed.

No solution is perfect, but that seems to be about as close to perfect as possible.

brewers fans are new to postseason disappointment...this is old hat in the south.

things id like to see but will never happen to help would be to shorten the season 4-8 games, abolish the one game playoff, and eliminate regular season interleague (at least in its current division for division swap form).

There are all kinds of solutions floating around....

The only one that could shorten the season is scheduled double headers. My favorite idea would be a national double header weekend (or two). Celebrate the double header - make it a MLB event. Bring the hype and you'll bring the fans. Schedule popular games for a four game weekend and pray for sunshine.

I'm all for that. Hell, if they're worried about gate receipts, they could even do day-night doubleheaders so they can rake in all of the money.
