Gaffney actually hit pretty well in rookie ball years back too. Holy fuck does he have a lot of HBPs. 13 in 161 PA this year... he had 20 (!!!) in 151 PA in 2012. With those 20 HBPs and 20 walks, he had a .483 OBP on a .297 BA.

but that's the thing. 27 is very old for someone in A+/AA.

I do think he merits watching though. Just looking at his stats, I think he has a much better chance of succeeding than Tebow. At least Gaffney has demonstrated the ability to make contact and he doesn't K nearly as much as Tebow does, not to mention he's shown more power.

it is...but again, hes not tim tebow...whos like 3 years older, and cant hit.

yes, 27 is old for AA. he was on an nfl roster last year.
