This is a bummer. I do think there are times when the SJWs go too far and just can't separate life from fun....

MLB banning 'offensive' rookie hazing costumes

Major League Baseball has created an Anti-Hazing and Anti-Bullying Policy that bans players from forcing others to dress up as women or any female characters, a practice that had become an end-of-year tradition for rookies throughout baseball clubhouses.

The rule was put in place as part of baseball’s new labor deal, which will be ratified by both sides Tuesday, with the players’ union agreeing not to contest it, according to the The Associated Press. The AP reported that the new rule prohibits “requiring, coercing or encouraging” players from “dressing up as women or wearing costumes that may be offensive to individuals based on their race, sex, nationality, age, sexual orientation, gender identify or other characteristic.”

I saw this on the morning news and the news anchor ended up laughing at a picture of one of the teams dressed up as women and then quickly stopped when she realized that its supposed to be a bad thing. Thats where we are at right now.

Acknowledging that God exists offends atheists.

Saying He would damn a specific group offends Christians.

Please check you privilege on the login screen on this site. That kind of ignorance and intolerance has no place here.

Bryan Holaday (with the Tigers a couple of years ago) posing with Kate Upton. Max Scherzer in the foreground. You're supposed have fun with rookies.

I wasn't aware of any of this. But I do worry when the term "SJW" is used to explain everything.

I guess the Batman costume doesn't bother me all that much.

Any rules about making a distinction between the various Mexicos that most rookies call home?

Dumb rule, the players don't mind and in today's paper they had player quotes saying is good for team moral.

When did this happen?
I don't think it ever as, was just making a joke.

I don't see dressing a ballplayer in a dress as offensive to women, but I guess the logic that is the player feels foolish because they are dressing as a lesser being and therefore it is humiliating. MLB is nipping it in the bud now as to avoid future possible PC violations, which I guess is smart...

The whole thing is complete BS.

When I was a pledge (many, many years ago) I did a bunch of stuff that I didn't really like. But it bonded me with my pledge-bros and allowed the brothers to get to know me better. I have always said that my pledge semester was the best time I never want to do again. Once I became a brother, it was actually slightly less-fun. The whole focus of the frat was on the pledges.

This country is in deep dodo (hehehe... autocorrected recommended "Dodgers" when I typed that) with all this pussification of our males.

I don't think it has anything to do with protecting the players. I think it is more about the image of dressing anyone as a woman as being demeaning to women...as if being a woman is a joke. They want to squash that before the PC world takes notice and says something of their own and puts MLB in hotwater.

I didn't that all the transvestites were heartless bastard whose only purpose was to offend women. I bet if Colin Kaepernick dressed as a woman, the NFL would say it's his Constitutional Right.

well, I mean it isn't against any laws for him to dress like a woman...

Now I am sure you and a bunch of others would be offended because the manly football player is wearing a dress, but there isn't dick you can do about it except bellyache about hating said player.
