MSU will be LOADED if Jackson goes to MSU. Honestly they'll be loaded if he goes somewhere else, but with him...wow.

Stars are aligning nicely in East Lansing...
the Football program is pushing elite and, although Izzo's Basketball program has never been better, it is very likely to improve anyway. With Jackson's loi that improvement is virtually guaranteed.

Would you want Michigan State to start becoming a one and done school?

I think typically Izzo doesn't go for that.

Would any coach in the country deny his program the opportunity to benefit - if only for a single season - from the undisputed talents of the number one recruit in the nation?

It'd be way atypical NOT going for that.

Precisely. Plus, JJ is KNOWN as being a ferocious and competitive defender. No doubt he will buy into whatever system he ends up in.

When a #1 NBA draft type kid WANTS to play defense at the college level? LOOK THE FUCK OUT

No, of course not.

I don't think Izzo puts that much effort into getting one and dones though. If you look at the kids he usually brings in, he builds his program around 3 to 4 year players and then every now and plays the lottery and tries to hit a homerun with a superstud Top 5 recruit.

I was mostly speaking hypothetically.

But it is a difference. When you bring in the super one and dones, you need to make concessions, including sitting your more experienced guys. And Izzo typically builds his teams around guys that have experience.

refreshing, huh? that a supremely talented youngster can admit that he probably has more to learn, that he's perhaps not quite ready for the NBA?

speaks volumes about the quality of the coaches/programs he's considering to provide that 'finishing' education.

I think it's a good thing, some of the other guys who were 4/5 stars that they just recruited will surely stay 2 to 3 years. Cassius Winston comes to mind. Dude could be the next Mateen Cleaves for them.

Arizona can still get a top 3 class as they are heavily involved in Jackson, Terrance Ferguson, and Rawle Alkins.

welp...91-76
hope Mr. Jackson enjoyed the game
we all sure did

:suds:

would this be an appropriate time for me to remind everybody that I absolutely positively adamantly and without reservations fucking HATE post season conference tournaments?
Indiana WON the B1G Title outright during the regular season...everybody killing themselves for a fucking seed on the eve of the Dance is fucking ludicrous.

Big 10's fault for doing it on the very last minute.

Would this be a good time to point out how much I hate playing an 18 game conference season with 14 teams in the conference? Luck of the draw on who, when, and where you play shouldn't have such a huge impact.

Cmon down to Tucson, JJ!

Comparing the girls/partying in Tuscon to the partying in East Lansing is like comparing a 2016 Ford GT to a 1982 Ford Tempo.

s'pretty funny hearing party/car comparisons from a lifelong loser who's usually too drunk to drive.

Arizona is hoping to get JJ and one of either Rawle Alkins or Terrance Ferguson

In this scenario our recruiting class would look like:
#1 Josh Jackson
#15 Terrance Ferguson or #17 Rawle Alkins
#20 Kobi Simmons
#20 (according to 247 sports) Lauri Markkanen

That would put us right up there with Duke, Kentucky, and Michigan State. C'mon Miller put it together!
