Pretty sure this is why he got an extension...his agent called and said show us the love. At this point I'm pretty sure Saban doesn't care much what the number is, but it rightfully should be more than anybody else is making.

I would like to think this means he's staying another 7 years, but he's going to leave when he wants to. Maybe it's 7, maybe it's 3, hopefully is 23....

Look out, there’s going to have to be another extension after Iowa gives Ferentz a bump to 8 years, 90 million.

I am almost sure that the only person worried about the numbers is his agent. If anyone thinks Saban is in it for the money or that the money is a primary driver for him hasn't watched Saban much.

This should allow him to afford gas for his boat now. Good for him.

Yeah, that's the agent part, but I'm sure he doesn't need to twist too much, Saban isn't about the money, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want the recognition. He'd be happy with 1 mil, as long as no one was making 2.

The guy's extraordinarily driven, and it rubs off on his players who are for the most part driven perfectionists competing against themselves.

At this point, think all he cares about is his legacy and making history

… and beating the Bear.

He doesnt need the money. The man owns property all over and his three Mercedes dealerships do quite well. Money is not why he coaches. That contract extension was sought by his agent and likely offered by Alabama

Glad he is extended through '25, but I doubt he stays that long. Gotta make room for the most successful Saban disciple or ex-Bama Alum to take over someday.

I remember when he was hired and everyone said he would cut bait after a couple of seasons. Wow, seems like forever ago now doesn't it?
I also wonder how many teams/agents are continuing to call and gauge his interest in other jobs? Probably has dropped of to maybe 1 a year by now. He keeps saying no, and and the ante keeps climbing.
What a perfect situation for him.

My very first post on this board, but don't hold your breath I don't plan on saying anything profound. Your going to sit there twiddling your thumbs and try to think up of a cute condescending retort to look cool in front of your fellow friends no matter what I write. That being said, Nick signing a contract isn't too surprising considering his track record there at Alabama. It's great for Bama fans, lol not so great for the rest of us little people. It's Saban's world and we are just living in it.
