I like Fems team, but his tallest corner is 5'11" and I have Moss 6'4", Plaxico 6'5", and Jimmy Smith 6'2" with Marino throwing to them. Plus I have Earl and Tony Gonzalez. Too much

Tough call for me. I like Femur's O-line a lot and his ability to control that with TD rushing behind it is dangerous. UK's linebacker core is a bit thin, so that works for Femur. UK's passing game is so potent though. Marino would be continually pushing the ball down the field.

The only thing that I really see here is that Derrick Thomas is out of place as a rushing OLB. That creates a mismatch in the run game and also having to deal with Tony Gonzales.

I think Femur would be able to control the clock for a lot of the game, but I think UK has enough fire power to overcome that. I got UK.

Derrick Thomas played outside in a 43 for the 94 season at a pro bowl level. Not sure why I am being docked for putting him there.

Also nobody is going to be trying to cover Tony G with any linebacker solo

Both teams match up great.I actually like Derrick Thomas to bring pressure. And Joyner is very under rated in coverage. I think these teams both grind it out on the ground. And UK gets a wr open to win close one

What choice would he have? Moss is a double team, if Tony G is doubled, how does he stop Earl?

Out of the backfield? Earl never caught a touchdown in his career.

No I was thinking via hand off lol. If I'm in 3 wide, he has no one to guard Moss one on one, tallest guy us 5'11", zero chance. Then if Tony G is covered, which you agreed was necessary, that's 6 guys to cover my 4. That leaves 5 to stop the run. Be it a straight hand off or play action, it's a mismatch

I''l take my chances. The base personnel defense is always nickel these days and Ronde Barber was a physical corner in the run game. Your offensive line is your weakness so his goal is to make you want to beat him running the ball. And you don't think Aneas Williams or Green never covered anybody tall before? Sure Moss would have an advantage but you can't just disregard two hall of fame corners.

I'm not disregarding his corners, I said they don't match up, and they don't. Moss vs Green or Williams with Marino at QB is a total mismatch one on one. Ronde is gonna be in the slot, which means Jimmy Smith, who at 6'2" is tough on Ronde plus as blocker. You knock my OL, but other than Winters, the rest are All Decade players, but the point is, Earl was only stopped by 8 man fronts, if you think he could be stopped by 5 or 6 guys committed to the run...well, I'll take my chances too lol

I’m not a big fan of UK’s offensive system imo . Yeah he has Moss and Tony but Plaxico as the slot and Earl with a power running game with a mediocre o-line. I still think he pulls it out in a close one bc I like his D (defense you fags) just a little better.

Just for the record, Jimmy Smith starts opposite Moss, when Plaxico comes in, he is outside and Jimmy goes to slot.
As to Earl, he never went down on contact, so if OL is a weakness(not imo), he's the one I'd want

But then he played 99.9% of his games as a 3-4 pass-rushing LB? Correct?

I've got no problem with DThomas in a 4-3, though he played 3-4 nearly all the time, a lot of the times he played 4-3 he dropped down and rushed as a DE. He just couldn't cover Gonzalez no matter what the scheme. He was a pass rusher. Maybe a Derrick Brooks could hang with TG one on one, though even that is a bit of a stretch imo

Math is not your strong suit, is it?

I just never understood some if these roster "restrictions". Yeah, Thomas only played 1 season in a 43, but he played well. And he is playing behind what is mostly a hall of fame line.
