As much as we wish it, just can't see this scenario?! There would be three surprises ahead of us, so the odds are way too high.

Well they mocked Ward after Jackson so if you flipped those two then it's really only 2 surprises one of them is highly unlikely as Hurst has a heart condition or did at the combine. Hurst is a talented guy though probably not top 5 good but he was probably a mid 1st to fringe top 10 type of guy based on talent.

After reading mocks for months now, don't see any of these three going before #9.

me either but I do see Ward going before #9 which he doesn't in that mock draft. So really the only two real shockers are Hurst and Landry. I doubt Chubb last that far but if he does drop to say 6 or 7 do they try to trade up to get him or are the other potential edge players not that much worse than Chubb?

It would by no means be the end of the world the guy is only 19.

Greg Cosell was on KNBR last night. He really likes Roquan Smith and would take him over Edwards. He said Edwards is a great physical talent but needs to develop his football skills. Sounds more like a high risk/high reward player.

I'd take Roquan Smith over Edmunds as well for those reasons and more.....Smith is a leader...and that is something the defense is missing. Leadership. This guy can bring it. Roquan is 1B for me, with Harold Landry at 1A.

He's probably the one worth the spot if Landry is the pick I hope they traded back to get him and collected more picks in the process.

That would be even better....but if they take Landry at 9, I'm very good with that.

I would be okay with it as well but I hate thinking they left someone more talented on the board.

I agree....unless some team really goes insane and starts offering #1's and #2's and stuff. With that kind of arsenal, you can always move back up and get the guy(s) you want and believe will still be there....

....like Harold Landry!

If they traded back, and still got one of the elite players and then trade back into the first round and get Landry or Davenport I think they would have won the draft.

No problem here, we need to protect Jimmy G next 10 years. Improving the run game also protects Jimmy G.

He likely gets every opportunity to start at RT. There is something about Trent Brown that we don't know yet?

No problem here, we need to protect Jimmy G and part of it is improving the run game.

He can run block the holes he and Nelson created for Notre Dame running backs were like highways.
