[I miss Dawkins]

As long as we see some of this on Sunday, we should be in good shape...

My only complaint here is.... they celebrate a 10 yard sack... giving us 2nd and 20... but then give up a 1st down over the next few plays. That 100% NEGATES that sack to meaningless. I would rather see them celebrating after they PUNT the ball... not after ONE good play that can be completely wiped away.

I think our best chance in this game is our DL against their OL. We have to get to the QB to force sacks and turnovers (the place needs to be super loud when the Vikes get the ball) while keeping it low scoring and close. I also hear people upset that the weather won't be too bad ... but I have seen nothing from Foles showing me that bad weather is any sort of advantage (if anything it's the opposite). I actually think that Foles will play much better if temps are over 40 degrees as predicted.

That's crazy. I hadn't seen that. It was a sprint out to the right though and it sounds like half our defense knew the play due to film study, so they were ready in any case.

That was the slick field. Atlanta slipped more than us for sure....this play perfectly highlights that. I am not sure if we are just more used to it, had better cleats for the condition. However, I wonder how prepared Minny is for a similar field...probably more prepared.

As for luck....maybe our luck comes in a different way this week!

I think Julio is the only one on the ground that slipped. The TE was knocked to the ground by Bradham and the RB dove to the ground trying to cut block Curry. Either way, not many good options for Ryan.

I was about to point out the exact same thing. Those were not just field slips. None of those options looked good for Ryan either.

The thing is, even with the slip, Julio got several feet higher than our CB (Mills?) and the ball went right thru his hands. Julio is an amazing talent. The only saving grace for us, is that when he came down his feet were still out of bounds.

In the end, awesome defense. We are not going to be firing on offense the way we did all season. We need others to step up - from coaching; play calling; OL; defense; etc. The 2 things that irritated me the most was the way special teams kept shooting us in the foot; and the way that all 3 RBs fumbled the ball on their first carry. We cannot do that to OURSELVES!!!!

Ugly win. But a team that never quit or gave up and fought to the end. Nice win. I hope we get another this week. GO EAGLES!!!!

i'm counting on this being an awesome game, because i think we can all agree that new england vs. jacksonville, AIN'T gonna be an awesome game. so please, eagles and vikings, give me a "last possession wins" type of finish, because the AFCCG will likely be unwatchable past the 1st quarter.

I disagree. I think the JAGS have a strong chance of actually beating NE. In the playoffs, never ever count out the superior defense.

This isn't the Steel curtain, the 85 bears or 00 ravens we're talking about. The patriots will score their fair share, the jags won't score enough to overcome it

You could be right. But the NE defense isn't what it was either. I do think Belichick is an incredible game planner, Brady a clutch QB who just gets better with pressure. But I think a strong defense is ripe for exploiting NE this year. I'm not sure it will be a runaway.

It is interesting to see the 2004 season replaying itself for us. We have to get thru ATL and MIN to get to the SB against, possibly to face NE again. Our best offensive player was taken out before the playoffs (TO then, Wentz now). I would "LOVE" the opportunity, even with Foles, to beat NE in a rematch for a SB ring.

lmao... I think your right. With both defenses being good, I think the big play and FG kicks will be the difference. I want no part of Foles going after the big play, as he proved to me big plays + Foles = INT. I'd rather march down the field and kick a FG ALL GAME LONG and control the TOP as our gameplan.

Last game, I honestly couldn't sit down the entire time. All 3 RB's fumbling on their first carries about gave me an aneurism. I should wear a fitbit during the game... see how many steps I get in. LMAO
