The longer it plays out looking like it’s maybe a guy coaching in the SB. Either that or Martha fell out of her chair

In case you missed it, Patricia is retaining JBC this year. Better get a running game going.

Yes, but QB coach Jim Callahan is not. It is still possible JBC goes back to that position and be made Asst HC, but I think he could improve as an OC if he has an OL coach that can help him with the run.

I read or heard somewhere that the Lions run game design went through the OL coach, who was fired. So I'm interested to see who our new OL coach will be.

Almost every team has the run game go through the O-Line coach. I saw a story about it recently, with how complex both offenses and defenses have got o line coaches are the ones to decide each week what the blocking scheme will be, and which run plays will even be in the playbook. Which obvioysly decides which play action passes and whivh pass blocking schemes they use. Which then affects which QB drops can be used, which route trees can be used etc. The O-Line coach almost has more reponsibilty these days than OC's. The OC picks which plays to run out of the ones the O Line coach tells him he is allowed to use.

That's honestly the thing I like best about Patricia, he played O-line and started out as an O-line coach. I would absolutely love it if he brought in an experienced guy as O-line/assistant HC guy, like Mike Mularky.

From Patricia's wiki page...

Patricia remained at RPI to begin his coaching career as a graduate assistant in 1996.[1] He spent the next two years as an application engineer with Hoffman Air & Filtration Systems in East Syracuse, New York.[2] Much sought-after in engineering circles, he received a $100,000-a-year offer to maintain nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers with the Westinghouse Electric Company,[3] but decided to return to football as the defensive line coach for Amherst College from 1999 to 2000. In 2001, he moved to Syracuse University as an offensive graduate assistant for the team, a position he held for three seasons.

That makes him smarter then all other lions coaches that i can remember...

maybe he can grt the right Number of Players on the fucking field.

Jeff Davidson (new O-Line coach): He was o-line coach for Denver last year, who was 29th in sacks allowed. Before that he spent 1 year in San Diego after he was fired from Minnesota. The last time he was on a team that was any good was when he was with the Pats in 2004.

:L Hopefully just some reporter guessing. I doubt this stuff will happen with Patricia being involved and I doubt he has time right now for this.

Looks like the lack of discipline Jim Schwartz brings is still an issue

I've seen a lot of coaches get Lionized once they were here. Patricia looks like he didnt want to wait that long?

They won this game in spite of him, but they certainly didn't get to the Bowl in spite of him.

So the Lions are going to hire 40-burger? Sounds about right.

It's okay guys. In New England, Bill Belechick runs everything. Last night had nothing to do w Patricia. He was probably distracted by the menu at Fishbones. Who hasn't been?

Can't wait to have this dude coach the Lions. After overseeing one of the worst defenses in football last season.
