Mets beat the Cubs 9-4 to take the rubber game.

They finally reach 30 wins.
By comparison...they hit the 30 win mark last yr on June 3rd....and in 2015 on June 4th.
Not too shabby considering the *plethora of never ending injuries plaguing them.

Congrats to Grandy on #300.

recap & box:

Mets Curtis Granderson hits 300th to beat Cubs

wheres todays lineup yoga? need inside info to bet my vcash....

They usually don't release/make it public until like 1 or 2 hours before the game starts...and then I post it. But you already knew that. So go ahead and put your money on the Nats like you were anyway, funny guy.... you don't need the lineup to do that.

C'mon Man.

NY Mets M*A*S*H update....sheeesh...when will it end?

Harvey out several weeks with shoulder injury

*Also Thursday, the Mets placed second baseman Neil Walker on the 10-day disabled list with a partial tear of his left hamstring suffered in Wednesday's game. He also received a PRP injection and will start rehab immediately, the Mets said.

Rumor Central: Mets again passing on Amed Rosario promotion?

Another infielder went down with an injury Wednesday night, but the New York Mets appear reluctant to promote top prospect Amed Rosario.

Second baseman Neil Walker injured his left leg running the bases against the Chicago Cubs and underwent an MRI on Thursday which revealed a partial hamstring tear that landed him on the 10 day DL..but will probably be out a bit longer.

Infielder Gavin Cecchini was scratched from the starting lineup for Triple-A Las Vegas and is likely headed to New York to replace Walker.

It's the second time in a week that the Mets passed on a call-up of Rosario, a shortstop who has a .333/.374/.496 slash line at Triple-A Las Vegas. When shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera landed on the DL with a thumb issue, the Mets opted for T.J. Rivera.

The clamor for a promotion is even greater given the Mets (30-34) are in the midst of a difficult stretch of schedule that includes series against the Nationals and Dodgers over the next seven days.

As for when the 21-year-old could be headed to Queens, Kevin Kernan of the New York Post reports the Mets “will at least discuss Rosario coming up earlier than expected.”

The Mets have a history of being cautious, most recently in 2015 when they waited until July before giving Michael Conforto his first taste of the major leagues.

And the plague of injuries just keeps on rearing it's ugly head.

Juan Lagares left the game in the 5th with a broken thumb.

Mets lost the game 8-3.

Gman became ineffective after the 3rd inning...he lasted just 5.

Mets will be lucky to win just 1 of these 4 games.....ugghh.
If they can somehow find it in them to get a series split...I'd consider that a huge victory should it happen.

Harper hits hard home run, propels Nationals over Mets 8-3

'Mad Max' is holding batters to a .175 average so far in 2017, and has historically done well at Citi Field. The Mets' record with and without Yoenis Cespedes is a stark contrast, but all-time Scherzer has held held him to a .214 average, with 7 K's, in 14 at-bats.

• Brandon Nimmo and Matt Reynolds are the healthy bodies brought up from Triple-A to replace Matt Harvey and Juan Lagares. Nimmo, whose chances of making the Mets in the spring were done in by a hand injury in the WBC, has swung the bat well recently, with a .290/.413/.484 slash line in his last 16 games. Neither is in Friday's lineup.

• Mets manager Terry Collins put Yoenis Cespedes in the No. 2 spot in the lineup tonight for the first time all season, stating that if it's good enough for Kris Bryant and Mike Trout, it's good enough for Cespedes. Cespedes has a .279/.316/.613 slash line with 14 HR in 37 games in the 2-spot, including 20 with the 2015 Mets.
