So I was out looking at travel trailers the other day, found one I like that my jeep can tow no problem. But the wife was wondering what would we need to tow something bigger. So I was kind of going over the options out there for a real truck. My last truck was a 98 1500 Z71 which I really liked, and god they have gotten huge since then.

Took a look at the Chevy's as I kind of am a bowtie guy (2010 Camaro SS, had the old pickup), and took a Colorado diesel for a spin and really wasn't bad. A similar size to my old pickup which I liked. The only thing I didn't like really was with the deals on the full sizes, that Colorado would be coming in at about the same price point.

Went and looked at a few 3.5 ecoboost fords as well. First off, holy hell that crew cab is huge in back. I was amazed, my dog would be on the floor in back with room to spare. Also like how those seats fold up against the back wall for more room. That motor is nice. Only thing I could think as a negative and it really isn't to me anymore is it's so so quiet inside. Plus bigger brakes, better handling, more TQ/HP, that thing drives like a car, and I can see how it would be a nice tow vehicle.

Thanks for your comments Yankee T - the diesel issue comes into play when choosing F150 or 250.

Here's my baby, which I'm not totally sure I'm ready to part with. With 100,000 miles, I'm just thinking that maybe it's good time to trade up while it still holds value. My main issue is this: I can't seem to find a regular cab. Everything's either extended cab, crew cab, king cab, take everyone out to dinner cab, etc.. Am I the only one who wants a regular cab anymore ? Also, I want an 8 foot bed. With an extended cab, comes a compromised beg length.

Let's here your comments...

I've driven both and I like the 150 better. The Chevy I drove just seemed to be lacking any power and it felt like something was holding me back. Granted this was a few years back so things obviously change.

As far as YOUR's goes.. Looks great to me. Any damage? Any rust? I do understand why you would want to trade it in as I am in the same boat with my car. Good luck. If you could get a good deal i'd go with an F-150

F150 will be my next pickup. Shouldn't have gotten rid of my last one: 175K miles and still ran like new

Thanks you guys - for all your comments and for the discussion. I'm gonna keep lookin for the exact features I want - no big hurry - but I'll be sticking with the F150. Wish we could all do this over a few beers instead of SportsHoopla but - I'll have a few for ya tomorrow after I back the boat down the ramp & get past the No Wake zone.

Looks like next years 150's will have a more powerful 3.5 v-6. Something like 450 ft/lb tq. And a 10 speed transmission.

If you are in no hurry, let them hit the dealerships and should see some good deals on the leftover 2016's with that big of a change coming.

Although it is not technically considered a truck but an SUV, I want one of these... It has a hellcat under the hood!! Yikes!!!

I was looking at one of these the other day. Trying to figure out what bank to rob and not get caught to get the cash for one. Turbo-Cummins Diesel under the hood. Badass to the core.

When do new year model F250's typically start shipping? Debating whether to get a 2017 later this year or wait...if I can.

I would go with the best selling vehicle 39 years in a row.
2 reasons Ford outsells the Chev. Ford has a greater/larger Fleet accounts and Chev loses some of their biz to GMC, which is the same truck. Combine GMC with Chevy sales and it is not close.
I believe GM has better resale value.
I think the GM is easier to service.
GM has the best and most powerful Diesel.
