pretty solidly on the AJ side... But it does again depend on if you think you will compete this season, and how good the team you are trading with is...

drop the second rounder and its a fairly even trade. Accepting or not depends on your situation.. Ready to win, or reloading?

even rebuilding, you don't do it if you expect your trade partner to be one of the better teams... The payoff is just too small...

You are a walking contradiction, this completely contradicts your own advice in the previous trade thread he posted, yet you've gotta try and start a disagreement with me anyways. I simply cannot stomach it any longer. Congrats Milk, you're the first, and only MBBRL member I just have to ignore..can't do it any longer.

no not disagreeing at all... and not contradictory... I even said the same thing... but you need to predict your trade partner's standings... whats the point in trading for a first rounder if you are trading with the best team, who will likely not have a good first round pick?? that first round, you want to have the highest possible pick, and you can predict standings, even if you end up being dead wrong...

but good Ill be happy when you start ignoring me... your blood pressure should get back to normal....

I agree that you should factor in what range the pick should be in as best you can, but I disagree that you should not trade with a certain team under any circumstances. Whether that be because they are the best team or because they are a division rival or whatever. You should trade with the team that gives you the best value for the pieces you are sending away, no matter who it is and what their team looks like. If you have 2 similar looking deals, I may shy away from a front runner or division rival, but like I said, you pull the trigger on the best deal... period.

This is a really complex topic though. If you are not high on your stud, then sure trade him before you are proven right. But if you are just trading your piece for a rebuild then you have to assume that that trade or similar will always be on the table. Even during the season. And then you can even have a more accurate read on the value of the trade.

All assuming you are not dealing for a pick that you think is worth it. As my point is that not all first round picks are created equally.

AJ is going to be 30 when the season starts and has been out scored by Landry the last couple years i'll go Landry.

I own AJ in D2. I noticed that he starts out a season pretty hot. But then as the season progresses, the red ranger, red rider, red foreman, whatever his name is, suddenly forgets AJ is on the team.

I traded him and Ajayi to Foot for the #1 pick and Trubiski in D1.

Landry isn't even really a #1.
