I know everyone is sad we haven't had enough Boston Sports stories recently.

Paul Pierce signs contract to retire as a Celtic.

OBTW he played football in his younger days. So yes it belongs on the GB:nod:

He was a hell of a player. I'm looking forward to Fultz, Simmons, Embiid and Saric to rekindle the rivalry with the Celts.

He was. One of the biggest mistakes we made during the Iverson Era was passing on him for Larry Hughes

I was born in South Boston and never heard the word until I moved to California. Even then it was rare in the schools I went to. I often played with the black kids during recess - never once heard them use it.
I think the hip-hop shit has popularized it.

Same I went to school in Somerville. Rarely heard it used. Then again that was a different time. Boston has been a melting pot for decades with very little racial violence. Sure we had bussing in the 70s-80s and we weren't without fault. But on a per capita basis no worse than any other large inner city. Roxbury and Charlestown being the exceptions. For those not from the area Roxbury was mostly black families while Charlestown was almost 100% white.
