Lets take the positives and the negatives from this game and learn from it.
Positive:
-Reese Looked good throwing the ball
-WR did a good job overall
-Carilsle looks like the real deal at RB
-Oline looked good
-Looks like we improved in punting(not by much but better then Turk)
-Nice long TD catch from the TE position.
-Hey we returned a Punt(last year we would fair catch every time)

Negatives:
-FG kicking looks bad again
-Dline didnt dominate
-Secondary some what got beat up on short passes(most of it was by design)
- Wasnt happy with MLB group(I miss Teo)

This is what we should be talking about. The good and the bad.

I 100% agree with Irish7478.

U still havent answered the Bama example. U think they suck because they only put up 195 yards on a bad team. I mean hey they are the Champs from last year shouldnt they put up 500 yards of offense.

In all the ND/Michigan games I have seen over the years, there has only been one player who scared me. That was Denard Robinson. I know people will say that Gardiner is a better fit for Hoke's offense, but I don't care. I feel much better about this game with Robinson gone.

Are you going to miss the 500 yard games or 5 TO game(s) most? :noidea:

You'd think after 4 years you'd know his name by now.

-WR did a good job overall
I agree

-Oline looked good
I'd say they looked decent. They had their ups and downs.

-Nice long TD catch from the TE position.
Ehh, it was actually only about a 15-yd pass and catch, Novaks did the rest(well the crappy Temple defenders helped).

- Wasnt happy with MLB group(I miss Teo)
I wasn't happy with the entire LB core. I have a feeling Gardner is gonna have a huge day running and throwing those short passes.

We had two of one, and one of the other. I'm just glad he's gone. We can defend a good drop back passer, even a mobile one, but Robinson killed us.

I don't think the Irish were over rated last year they played a tough schedule and went undefeated. It's just Bama was that much better than every one else last year.

I do think the Irish had the mojo working and everything went their way. It's tough to expect that to happen two years in a row. Bad call, bad bounce, bad injury it's just tough.

It will be a great test for Gardner. As he goes so will UofM.

You don't have to be a fan of him to know who he is. He's been a QB on ND long enough for you to know how to spell his effing name.

And hahahaha at my damn self. Who the fuck is Novaks? What the hell was I thinking? Yes, I meant Niklas.

Refreshing to hear that from a scUM fan. Most of them seem to think the Irish have a cake schedule every year. ND had the 8th toughest schedule last year, EOS.

And yes, Bama was just that much better. Nothing to cry about, we made the NCG, something many of us, if not all thought would never happen last year.

22 points is a blowout against a half decent/good team. Against a crappy team like Temple a 22 point win is more like a 10 point win against a decent team

Don't try to explain that to the Simpletons ...

I wasn’t overly impressed with the temple win but was very happy about a solid victory. I think bk is happy with the first performance of the year as well. Think about it for a minute. Adjusting to a new starting qb and filling holes at some key positions on both sides of the ball and still put up 5 hundred yards of offense honestly is pretty darn good. I don’t want to hear about what Oregon did or meatchicken did to their opponents because I don’t think playing fcs schools is fair or determine how well a team “might be” they are glorified exhibitions that provide nothing more than an exchange of money. would I have like to have seen more of course but, again, I’m happy with the sound win. With meatchicken this week I feel bk saw he could secure the win early and more than likely worked on things that needed in game polishing.
Really only negative thing I can say is the defense needs some tuning and special teams needs some special attention.

Because I dont care. Im not a fan of Rees, Im a fan of ND. Just to point out I think 3 or 4 others spelled it reese through out some thread.

If I cared or a fan of Rees then I would pay attention to his name. Maybe he will prove me wrong this year and I will remember his name.

I will take 28-6 every day of the week to give us 12 blow outs.

A new starting QB??? Ummmm ... readjust yourself. Rees has been there (that would mean Notre Dame) for 4 freakin years and has started many games. FCS schools??? ... since when is Central Michigan an FCS school. Again ... some readujustment of your senses are in order ..

Hell, I'm happy with a 10 point win against a decent team. And if it's like a 3 point win against a good team, I'm positively thrilled.

How can you complain about spelling and then use the word "Cmonnn"?
