“We’re looking forward to having them in Death Valley,” said David Wilkins, chairman of the Clemson University Board of Trustees. “They will be playing Clemson in the foreseeable future because they’ll be playing every school about once every three years.”

Wilkins expressed delight in Wednesday’s announcement and applauded Clemson President James Barker for facilitating Notre Dame’s move.

“I think President Barker deserves a lot of credit – he was one who aggressively advocated for it, for pushing and being proactive,” Wilkins said. “This is very positive. It shows we’re on the offense, moving forward. It’s a great coup to get a school like Notre Dame to join the league.”
