Just read on Irish24/7 that it looks like it's going to be Elko. Apparently the 3 year deal is being finalized now.

I think this will be a good move. The good thing is this isn't a 1-2 year thing and he leaves for an HC spot. I think if things go well he can be here for the next 3-4 years.

It's a very good hire the guy gets the most of his recruits that don't have the talent Notre Dame can get. They may even take a few guys that they normally wouldn't because Elko likes them.

Im excited about this pick up. I had him #3 on my list but was a great sleeper pick. This guy can coach.

Looks like Wake was 33rd in the country in total defense. Irish were 40th.

So just imagine what he can do with ND talent. Should be fun to watch. I think they will struggle a little from the start by season end they should be rolling(if healthy).

Definitely. He had nothing but 2 and 3 stars at Wake I'm sure.

His defense gave up yards but not a ton of points and also created turnovers and got sacks.

A big reason why Elko's defense has given up yards the past three years at Wake is because he's had to deal with one of the worst offenses in the FBS. Wake's offense was historically bad in 2014 and 2015, which caused the defense to spend a lot of time on the field.
