NBA 2k17 or EA NHL 17?

Which one is worth getting? I know the NBA 2k games are amazing, i thought 2k16 was awesome and i actually completed an entire 82 game season plus post season playing every single game...However the thought of doing that again this year feels repetitive...Also i am really not super stoked right now for NBA basketball.


NHL 17 seems intriguing to me because i really dont play hockey games and it can present a real challenge. However, I got NHL 15? i think it was and it was horrible. Maybe the worst sports game ive played in a long long long time. I played maybe 3 games in franchise mode and never played the game again.

Don't know if NHL 17 is better? Sometimes these sport games can get super repetitive in their series, especially if there isn't a competitive brand going against it.

You can have expansion teams in MyLeague this year which is a neat feature, especially since some of the community generated designs are really really good. I've added the Sonics, Spirits of St. Louis, and added the Grizzles back to Vancouver while rebranding Memphis as the Blues.

The park after dark addition was pretty cool too.

It's pretty fun but I suck at stick handling so I get the puck yanked pretty easily a lot. I swear 90% of my games go into overtime.

Yeah it's hard to keep sustained possession as one guy with the poke checks and what not.

Not sure what you are playing on, but for me on xbox it seems to go 50/50 either close games or blow outs where the goalie quits halfway through.

I play it on the XB1. My team rarely ever plays anybody without an AI goalie. Even in drop-in matches it is pretty rare. What usually happens when I lose is some guy on the other team happens to be standing where a ricocheted shot happens to go, makes one pass, and it's a breakaway goal.
