Things really happened quickly this week after Bowman was visibly upset from being taken from the game. I wonder if Bowman might have requested a trade or release. Clearly he wasn't part of their future plans and Bowman might want to try and play for a playoff team, not a rebuilding one

Makes sense...but it was pretty much impossible to find a trade partner with his contract/age/injuries.

I just read that Shanahan has 100% denied the rumour, so who knows what's going on. I'll take the HC's side for now.

Ya, I don't think they'd let him go unless they know he plans to leave. This is his contract year after all.

Ian Rappaport was on KNBR morning show this morning. He doesn't believe it. Rappaport stated the 49ers are in negotiating with his agent for an extension

Unfortunate, but understandable for both sides. Lynch described that he was in the same situation as a player, but as a GM he had to make the call. Bow was due 12 mill next year on top of his reps getting cut down (which Bow didn't like). He and Willis were hands down one of the best duos in the game for years (which Lynch noted), and he earned the right to be released to sign with a team of his choice. It seems the brass likes their younger options at LB in Foster and Coyle for now...if foster can stay healthy he will be a beast for us. The D has been playing pretty well with out him, but looks more dominant when he's in the middle. In other news, CJ looked pretty damn good for getting thrown into the fire -----> off to the future.
