The Hokies board has one for our school, (a good class) as well as our twitter feed.

I assume the UF, Texas, LSU, Bama, etc... guys will have running threads on the main board or college football board as well. If you ask, someone will do one for the school of your interest, I am sure.

No one cares about the Hokers outside of Virginia. ;)

Is DGB the most hyped WR recruit ever? Where does he go?

Four-star outside linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemson (Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes), the top prospect in Georgia, No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 17 player in the ESPNU 150, announced his decision to remain inside state lines and play for the Bulldogs.

Georgia topped Florida and Florida State for Harvey-Clemons. Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Clemson, Alabama, Miami-FL, South Carolina, Wake Forest, North Carolina and Tennessee also offered Harvey-Clemons, who could end up playing anywhere from defensive end to outside linebacker to safety, or even wide receiver, according to ESPN's Tom Luginbill.

Harvey-Clemson took official visits to Gainesville (Dec. 9), Louisville (Dec. 16), Athens (Jan. 13) and Tallahassee (Jan. 20).

Four-star LB stays in Western Pa.
February, 1, 2012
9:04AM ET

Four-star outside linebacker Deaysean Rippy (McKees Rocks, Pa./Sto-Rox) committed to nearby Pittsburgh in a ceremony at his high school Wednesday morning, and Pitt confirmed his letter of intent was received.

Rippy was down to Pitt and West Virginia after dropping Arizona on Sunday and losing his scholarship to Colorado.

Rippy was previously committed to Florida but things did not work out and he lost his scholarship to the Gators during the summer.

Ranked No. 34 at his position and No. 12 in the state, Rippy is the Panthers' top defensive commit.

Hokies keep Joel Caleb home
February, 1, 2012
8:40AM ET

ESPNU 150 athlete Joel Caleb (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) committed to sign with Virginia Tech Wednesday over Ohio State and West Virginia. He visited the Hokies on Dec. 9, the weekend after traveling to Columbus, and before tripping to Morgantown (Jan. 20).

Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, Virginia, Alabama also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Caleb who possesses 4.6 speed and a 32-inch vertical.

Caleb is the state of Virginia’s top prospect in 2012. Last year, the Hokies failed to sign any of the state’s top 15 recruits. Rival UVA signed eight of the top 15 and other programs such as North Carolina, Ohio State, Clemson, Arkansas and Vanderbilt plucked some of the area’s top talent.

RB Norfleet switches to Michigan
February, 1, 2012
7:02AM ET

It seemed as though Michigan was putting its sole focus on a few remaining prospects to fill the 2012 class. While some names popped up here and there, one name that didn't seem to be on the radar at all was three-star running back Dennis Norfleet (Detroit/Martin Luther King).

That changed recently, however, and Norfleet was scheduled to fax his letter of intent to the Michigan coaching staff early on signing day.

This comes as a surprise because Norfleet is listed as a 5-foot-7, 170-pound running back, which goes against the grain of what the coaching staff has said it's looking foras it transitions to a pro-style offense under coordinator Al Borges. Norfleet is an electric back who could provide a change of pace out of the back field, or help in the return game.

Norfleet had previously been committed to Cincinnati and had offers from Michigan State and Tennessee.

Walker says he'll sign with UCLA
February, 1, 2012
6:53AM ET

Kenneth Walker (Richmond, Calif./Kennedy) committed over the summer to Cal but recently re-opened his recruitment. Tuesday night, the athlete said he’ll be signing with UCLA.

Walker took visits to UCLA and Washington over the last two weeks and appeared to be leaning to the Huskies Monday morning. After thinking things over a little more, the receiver said he felt like UCLA was the best fit.

“There was a lot of reasons why I liked UCLA,” Walker said. “First off, academically, UCLA is very strong and has a great plan for me. I know football can come and go but the academics at UCLA put them over the top. I love the coaching staff and I trust them. That staff has a lot of NFL experience and I think they’ll be able to prepare me for the next level.

“I also liked UCLA’s alumni support for after football. I know you can’t play forever and like I said, a degree from UCLA is a big thing. Football wise, all three schools are very good but this wasn’t about football as much as just me being comfortable. I think no matter where you go, as long as you work hard, you can be successful and that’s what I plan to do. I’m comfortable with these coaches and they’re going to help me get to where I need to be.”

Walker said the past few days were incredibly stressful for him.

“This was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through,” Walker said. “I ended up locking myself in my room all day and took out every letter and hat that I had. I just stared at them and started writing down the pros and cons of each school. Once I did, I finally felt a peace about thing and UCLA was the school that came out on top.

“Location played a role too. My family wanted to be able to see me play but they would have supported me no matter where I went. I think UCLA is a great fresh start for me and I’m excited about the class coming in and the the impact I could have. I feel so relieved right now that this is over, I can’t even tell you. Tomorrow is going to be a lot of fun and I’m thrilled to be a Bruin.”

Mickens originally committed to USC, but opened up his recruitment in December 2011. He took official visits to Washington (Nov. 25), Oklahoma State (Jan. 13) and Arizona State (Nov. 18). UCLA, California, Washington State and SMU also offered Mickens.

Dual-threat QB changes his mind
January, 31, 2012
11:32PM ET

New Red Wolves head coach Gus Malzahn has convinced two-star quarterback Dezmond Stegall (Searcy, Ark.) to run his spread option attack at Arkansas State, multiple sources report.

Stegall, who committed to Louisiana Tech just four days ago, could not pass up the opportunity to play in Malzahn's system which caters to athletic signal-callers.

Central Arkansas and Memphis also offered the 6-foot-1, 203-pounder.

According to ESPNU, Stegall shows good timing and is extremely accurate in the intermediate passing game. He throws well on the run and has the speed to gain significant yardage on the ground, as he ran an electronically timed 4.7 40-yard dash on the combine circuit.

Michael Onuoha staying home, picks OU
January, 31, 2012
11:24PM ET

It was better late than never for three-star defensive end Michael Onuoha (Edmond Okla./Santa Fe) as he verbally committed to Oklahoma on Tuesday night.

Onuoha was scheduled to announce Tuesday morning between the Sooners and Missouri but decided earlier in the afternoon that he might wait until Wednesday’s signing ceremony. But he couldn’t wait any more as Onuoha tweeted “#BOOMER SOONER!!” on Tuesday night, ending the drama.

“It was just a gut feeling I had,” Onuoha said. “I thought about it for so long. I prayed about it. I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision and what was the best spot for me.”

This time last month Onuoha was regarded as a tight end prospect for the Sooners and didn’t have an offer. But once OU defensive ends coach Bobby Jack Wright got to see some senior film, it didn’t take long for Wright to realize what a diamond in the rough he had found in Onuoha.

Onuoha went on an official visit to OU over the weekend. And after entering the weekend with Missouri firmly in the lead, the visit made Onuoha reevaluate things. And it made it tough for him to function the last couple of days.

“I was so stressed out because I know how big of a deal this is,” Onuoha said. “I could hardly even think at school. The whole time I was in class I kept thinking about my decision. Now that it’s over, I feel pretty good. The whole weight of the world is off my shoulders.”

Onuoha, 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, was an unknown quantity coming into the summer. With no film for anybody to dissect, he burst onto the scene because of his performance at OU’s summer camp.

“'Big Mike' is somebody who has really put in all the work,” Edmond Santa Fe head coach Lance Manning said. “He’s still raw, but he has so much potential, and he has been doing things the right way. We’re all proud of how far he has come in such a short time.”

That camp performance led to interest from OU and Missouri. And while the Sooners were casual observers, the Tigers were relentless in their pursuit of Onuoha and offered him in December.

When OU entered the picture, however, Onuoha said he started to understand why everybody talks about the Sooners' tradition. The relationship he developed with Wright got stronger with each week, and the Oklahoma coaches and Onuoha were clearly on the same page.

Onuoha was originally supposed to take his official visit to OU two weeks ago, but it was postponed so he could get the full college experience with students back on campus. Onuoha said he loved his visit to Missouri last week, but OU got the last laugh with the final visit. Onuoha let Wright and OU coach Bob Stoops know Tuesday.

“Coach Wright, he’s a loud guy, but I’ve never heard him that loud. It was crazy,” Onuoha said. “I can’t really explain just how excited he was. He kept getting louder as he was talking.”

Onuoha said he never felt disrespected by OU for the offer coming so late because he understood why the coaches were so hesitant. But now that he has made his decision, he is ready to show why OU made the right choice.

Onuoha is the 22nd member of the 2012 class and the fourth in the last three days for OU. He is the third defensive end, joining junior college signee Chaz Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/Garden City CC) and Charles Tapper (Baltimore/City College).

Onuoha will officially sign his letter of intent at 2:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday.

“I know I’m going to be a productive player,” Onuoha said. “I’m so excited about tomorrow.

"I’m going to sign that letter, and then it’s time to get to work. Time to get big.”
