Its funny because they can't make it official until they are able to put fielder or another guy on the 60 day DL to clear the roster space.

He had a great season last year, dog shit post season. I'm curious to see how he does this year.

He is a good fit for the Rangers... I don't think he will have the same numbers as last year but he will do decently in Texas

Wish he was back in Boston

I am interested to see if the Red Sox dynamic changes with the retirement of "Big Papi". I expect with that young core with Betts and Bradley and co. that they rock right along never missing a beat, but no doubt David is gonna be missed both for his offense and make-up

I love him belting all those homers but he was so frustrating to watch. He either struck out or hit a homer. I highly doubt he goes crazy with the homeruns like he did last year but worth taking the risk for a DH or even 1B. He was underrated in the field IMO

Oh he will be missed, no doubt about it. I mean they all looked up to him and we can't argue with his offensive production that's for sure. I am really hoping that JBJ can step it up even more now that Papi's gone. Betts, Pedroia will also really need to step it up

Hope he continues mashing 450 ft home runs.

Loved him in Boston. He handled the move to 1B very well and was actually a very solid defender.
