We hit Oildale/Bakersfield every six months or so, lot of junk stores/thrift shops there. As ya know a lot of homeless people there just roaming the streets. Never hear.... hey buddy can ya spare some change.....as I do in Bakersfield. Yep, carry some quarters with me.

Driving in from the north from Porterville ya drive thru miles of oil wells all working, it is a sight, you think......Texas...or I do.

Thing about central Cali is there are so many little towns around here, and all looking up at the mighty Sierra Navada mountain range.
