Absolutely crazy that Northern Iowa is the 2nd lowest seed in this tournament after how well they played OOC this year. They looked like a surefire tournament team

UNI has been playing better recently . They played pretty well early and pretty well late . MVC usually has some surprises and historically UNI, SIUcand Illinois St all perform pretty well in STL. Loyola is very good but I think this tourney goes to someone else

I hope so. I just don’t see uni beating Loyola. Illinois State just played Loyola and were shooting lights out from down town, kept Loyola quiet for large periods of the game, and they still lost. Like you said, anything can happen though.

On a side note, I keep thinking Illinois State is a year away, and then all their players teansfer to bigger schools. They lost McKintosh to Oregon, where he’s averaging 11 points and 6 boards. They lost Deontae Hawkins to BC who was doing well until he tore his acl. They lost Reggie Lynch to Minny two years ago as well, and he was the DPOY of the big ten conference last year. It’s brutal. I feel it’d be different if they had made a tourney or two. This year they have no significant seniors, but the good juniors and sophomores will probably transfer. A few of those years they deserved an at large bid and got snubbed.

Hard luck program . They've lost in the MVC title game at least 5 times in the last 10 years if I recall. Last year's snub was brutal. Ivwish they let more great mid majors on instead of major schools that scrape by in league. I've never understood how going 8-10 in a major conference is better than 14-4 in a good mid major. Lots of teams can play a good schedule and lose a lot . If you're even halfway competent and you play 18 games vs Top 100 teams you're going to win 6 or 7 of them . Doesn't Jean you're good enough to make the tourney but you almost always will.

Valpo is not as bad as the record shows and on a neutral court they can win 2 games.
Aces murdered SIU on Saturday and if they approach that, they can beat UNI.
I don't think Loyola is head and shoulders ahead of anybody.
Drake-Bradley is a joke.

I really hope Loyola ends up winning it. Depending on their opponent, I can see them making it out of the first round and that's saying something about an MVC team that isn't Wichita State lol. If they win the tournament, I can see them being one of those 12 seeded teams that could be an upset waiting to happen.

Loyola won both matchups 68-61. I don’t see how ISU pull it out. The last game, the redbird were hitting shots that had no business making and still lost. Huge birds fan here. Loyola needs to suffer through what isu went through. They need to get snubbed a few years.

On a side note, I believe you said the mvc officials suck this year? I totally agree. During the regular season I saw plenty of games where the referees screwed up more calls than make the right ones.

Yeah I had the pleasure, or displeasure, of watching lots of MVC games this year and the officiating was just horrid. I was hoping it would be better come tournament time but, I was wrong lol.
